As the Class of 2026 celebrates these well-deserved results, we look forward to seeing their continued growth, especially the many students returning to us to begin their A-Level and key stage 5 journeys at our Sixth Form, The Oaks.

Today we celebrate the hard work, determination and achievements of our Year 13 students, as well as those completing AS levels and students getting results at the end of Year 12.

You have shown resilience, ambition and commitment throughout your time at The Oaks Sixth Form, and we are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished.

Whether your next step is university, an apprenticeship, employment or another exciting opportunity, today marks the beginning of a new chapter.

If you haven't done as expected - please don't worry. As you move forward, remember that success isn't just measured by grades, but by the growth, confidence and experiences you've gained along the way.

Free School Meals

Dear Parents and Prospective Parents

Last week you will have received an update via Arbor regarding Free School Meals for the new academic year. Thank you to those that have already completed the form.

It's extremely important that if you have not done so already, that you respond to this email and complete the form to ensure that if your child is eligible for free school meals, that this continues next year.

In line with government guidelines the eligibility criteria has changed.

From 1 September 2026, there will now be two main categories of FSM eligibility:

Targeted Eligibility
- Applies to children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings of £7,400 or less.
- Pupils in this category will:
-- Qualify for Free School Meals
-- Enable schools to receive additional Pupil Premium funding
-- Be considered for other support, such as extended school travel assistance

Expanded Eligibility
- Applies to children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings above £7,400.
- Pupils in this category will:
-- Qualify for Free School Meals only
-- Not attract Pupil Premium funding

Ever6 Free School Meals
- Any children who have previously received a Free Meal and who are no longer eligible will then become Ever6, which means that although they will no longer receive a free meal they will retain Pupil Premium funding and associated benefits for the next six years.

What you need to do
If you are either currently in receipt of Free School Meals, or if you believe you will become eligible under the new expansion (ie, you receive Universal Credit) you will need to complete an application here https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc2cwzzFuZDqS6jwt_pB6kZ1ssDWIGKCqv1OPwMadgkVNirqA/viewform so we can make these checks ahead of the start of the autumn term. We will keep your information on file and use this to re-check your eligibility every year.

Alternatively, parents can check their own childrens eligibility here (https://fsm.lgfl.net/app)

It takes approximately 2-3 minutes and the school will then be able to see on the portal who is and isn't eligible directly to update our schools MIS system accordingly.

As you can appreciate this is a big change and extra work for schools, your support in making this transition as seamless as possible is hugely appreciated.
