An incredible day on Sunday 10th May with all seniors attending the events for visiting Mamore Gap Co.Donegal in memory of past founders to mark yet another highly successful grading and seminar event.

Afterwards returning to HQ Phoenix Dragon dojo for the main grading & assessment session took place seeing our newest black belt seniors Mark Kavanagh & Charlie Gillen. Then two senior dan grades Brian Richards & John Harding receiving their 'Sensei - Instructor' titles.
Massive well done to you lot and tremendous efforts 💯🫡

That also goes for our senior members who all showed up for playing part on the sessions in support of the graded belts and assessments for instructors. 👏

Later we had GM Sebastian Durrant 10th Dan teaching his valuable tips on reality training to escape and control situations from spontaneous attacks.

Saturday evening most spent a delightful evening dining in the restaurant catching up.

Today from 30 years ago the Derry Journal posted up our founder in the martial arts roots we teach.

Professor / Grandmaster Steve Stephens was running the Dragon All-Style Martial Arts Federation and usually visited once per year to teach seminars to the local students of that time.

We continue with his legacy and knowledge to provide training actively today.

On the picture Prof.Steve Stephens as demonstration is using a technique from both students using an attack from gripping his both wrists then to redirect the attackers grip and effectively controlling the energy to create escape and control locks.

MEMBERS & FRIENDS OF ASSOCIATION

We have upcoming events taking place and having GM Sebastian Durrant visiting for the weekend of 9th/10th May.

Firstly we have Saturday 9th having a Budō banquet evening held in Burn On The River.
This is for everyone who would like to be part of the evening to enjoy and catch up. This will be for 8pm.

Our members and friends of Phoenix Dragon Aiki-Budo Association and Dragon All-Style Martial Arts Federation are all welcomed to come along accompanied by your +1.
Pass on your name and if you have +1 to confirm. Send on a deposit of £10 per person by 1st May to secure bookings.

GRADINGS - 12 -2:30pm
On Sunday 10th will be a full day of activity. We will meet at Phoenix Dragon HQ dojo in Whitehouse Rd for 10am. Then will make our way to Mamore Gap in Co.Donegal and spend a short time in memory of our founders.
Any seniors / Instructors in Inishowen planning to make the trip can meet us there for 10:45am.
Please let us know in advance.

For 12pm we will arrive back to our HQ dojo to begin few senior gradings and coaching tests of brown/ black belts. All instructors and seniors of coloured ranks are advised to make this session as a participant if you are not required for grading or coaching tests. This will be a training session for you. Some part of the testing will require a closed door for up to 30mins for anyone below brown/ black belts.

If Instructors from outside clubs wishes to grade their students then put them forwards to keep on our list by 1st May.

Fees for Non-grading for full day events -
£20 / 22euros.
Fees for Seniors grading / Coaching testing and Seminar - £40 / 45euros.

SEMINAR - Sunday 2:30-4pm.
GM Sebastian Durrant 10th Dan

This is open for all clubs and seniors.
We will get to enjoy a seminar with GM Sebastian for the remainder of the day open to everyone.

Refreshments with tea, coffee, sandwiches and traybakes will be on offer for everyone attending.

Send in your name if you wish to attend only for seminar if you are not making the full day events.
Fees - £14/ 15euros per Senior / Instructors.

We look forwards to having a great weekend for all seniors and clubs.
