Do you have a teenager sitting their Maths GCSE in two weeks? ➖➕➗✖️🟰

It’s a stressful time for them (and you). A pass in Maths is a must. Whether it’s to stay on at school, get a place in Uni or a successful placement in an apprenticeship - Maths is a requirement. ⛔️

We have revisions slots available for all levels of Maths GCSE available from Monday 10th until Wednesday 19th November.

The hourly lessons are available from 9.30am until 3pm. It’s just a matter of taking your kids out of school for the lesson time - just as you would for a doctors or dentist appointment.

The Most Common Mistake in SEAG Maths
(and How to Fix It)

“Most SEAG maths mistakes have nothing to do with the actual maths…”

Rushing and not reading the question properly is the main cause.

Teach your child the S.T.E.P. strategy (Scan, Think, Extract, Plan)

S- SCAN - Read the question twice.

T - THINK - What is the question asking you to find?

E - EXTRACT - Underline the key information.

P - PLAN - Decide on the right operation.

Once your child learns to do this, their grades will improve instantly.

If you’d like to try it with your child, comment ‘STEP’ and I’ll DM you a worked example.

🚨 LISTEN UP, MUMS & DADS! 🚨

The SEAG Transfer Test is creepin’ up fast…
And if you're sitting there thinking, “I don’t even know where to start,”
You're NOT the only one.

Let’s be honest — the schools are doing what they can, but you know rightly it's not enough.

That’s exactly why I put together the 8-Week SEAG Worksheet Series.
🟢 Straightforward, no-faff activities
🟢 Covers exactly what’s in the test
🟢 Just 15–20 minutes a day — perfect for evenings
🟢 Takes the stress off you and builds their confidence

Hundreds of local parents have already grabbed it — and they're saying things like:

“My wee one’s actually enjoying it — and I’m not tearing my hair out anymore!”

Now here’s the best part...

💥 You can get the FULL 8 WEEKS for just £29.

That’s less than a chippy tea — and it could be the difference between panic and confidence on test day.

🎯 No need to overthink it.
🎯 No tutor needed.
🎯 Just click the link, download, and get started.

👉 Grab it now: https://payhip.com/b/r0KC5

Let’s take the pressure off and help your child walk into that SEAG test feeling ready to smash it. 💪

You’ve got this — and so do they.

29/07/2025

There are two types of parents in Northern Ireland right now.

The first type knows the SEAG transfer test is looming. They feel a wave of anxiety every time they think about it.

They'll scramble for tutors who are already fully booked. They'll download random papers from the internet.

The arguments will start. The stress will build. And they will live in a state of panic, wishing they had a clear plan.

Then there's the second type of parent.
The parent who has a secret weapon.

They have a calm confidence, because they know they have a proven path. They have a system that is turning just 15 minutes a day into a massive advantage for November.

Their child isn't burning out.
They are building up.
Their confidence is growing daily.
And when they walk into that test centre, they won't feel panic. They will feel prepared.

For the last few weeks, I've shown you WHY the "little and often" method works. Today, I'm finally giving you the HOW.

I am making my entire P6/P7 SEAG Success Worksheet Series available to you right now.

This is the exact, structured plan I use with my private students to build the skill, confidence, and accuracy needed to walk into the SEAG test and perform at their best.

This isn't just a stack of random questions. This is a complete system designed to eliminate panic and build momentum all the way to November.

Here’s what you get:
✅ The "Countdown to November" Plan: A clear, day-by-day schedule that tells you exactly what to do for 15 minutes each day. No guessing, no stress.

✅ The "Core Skills" Worksheet Series (Maths & English): Every single question is targeted. We drill down on the key topics that show up year after year, building mastery one concept at a time.

✅ The Confidence-Building System: Our method is designed to create daily wins. It turns "I can't do this" into "What's next?" by making progress feel easy and automatic.

✅ The Examiner's Mindset Cheatsheets: Simple guides that teach your child HOW to read the questions, manage their time, and avoid the silly mistakes that cost marks.

You can spend the time between now and November feeling stressed and uncertain.

OR...

You can use my proven plan and give your child the gift of confidence for a price that is less than a single hour of private tuition.

The choice is yours.

Every week that passes is an opportunity lost.

The parents who start now are giving their children the greatest gift: time.

The price for this entire series is just £29 for a limited time.

When the back-to-school rush begins, the price for this pack will be going up.

The parents who act now get the biggest advantage at the best price.

My 100% Confidence Guarantee: Try the series for 14 days. If you don't feel more in control, more confident, and see your child making progress, just send me an email and I will refund every penny. I am taking all the risk because I know this works.

P.S. There are two paths before you: The path of panic and regret, or the path of preparation and confidence. Which one will you choose for your child this November?

"Am I pushing them too hard?"
"Am I not doing enough?"

Every single parent of a P6 or P7 child in Northern Ireland asks themselves this. Usually late at night, when the house is quiet.

You know the moment I'm talking about.

You're trying to go over a Maths problem, and you see it happen. The glazed-over look in their eyes. Their shoulders slump. You ask a question, and they just give you that quiet "I don't know."

And your heart sinks.

You're just trying to help them, but you feel like you're creating a huge wall between you.

I'm a SEAG tutor, and I need you to hear this: It is not just you.

Let me repeat that. It is NOT just you.

This pressure is immense, and you are navigating it on top of school, work, and life. The secret isn't to pretend the pressure doesn't exist. The secret is to change its size.

Think of it like this:
The entire SEAG curriculum is a giant mountain. No child (or parent!) wants to climb a mountain after a long day at school. It's overwhelming.

But your job isn't to conquer the whole mountain every night.

Your job is to tackle one small, manageable hill.

That's what 15-20 minutes of focused work is. It's a hill. It's achievable. It builds the strength and confidence they need for the bigger climb ahead, without crushing their spirit today. You can download 5 complete days of worksheets instantly on https://payhip.com/SeagSummerSmartClub

You are not just their teacher; you are their base camp manager. Your job is to make the journey feel possible.

Let's be honest. What's one thing your child said or did this week during revision that made you pause? Let's share and support each other in the comments.

P.S. Know a parent who is being hard on themselves? Tag them below to remind them they're doing a great job in a tough situation.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗚 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀

One of the most common things I hear from parents is:

“My child can do sums, but as soon as it’s a word problem, they freeze or guess!”

It’s not that your child doesn’t know how to add, subtract or divide, it’s that they’re not being taught how to decode the language of maths.

Here’s the mistake most children make:
👉 They read the word problem and immediately try to do the first calculation they see.

This leads to rushing, wrong answers, and lots of frustration.

Try this instead:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 “𝗦.𝗧.𝗘.𝗣.” 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆

🔹 S – Scan the question
Read the full question carefully twice. No pencil yet! Let it sink in.

🔹 T – Think about what’s being asked
Ask: “What is the actual question?” Is it asking for the total? The difference? How many more?

🔹 E – Extract the facts
Underline the numbers and key information — cross out the ‘story fluff’ that doesn’t matter.

🔹 P – Plan & solve
Now decide which operation to use (add, subtract, etc.) and write it down clearly. Check if your answer makes sense.

Teaching your child this S.T.E.P. habit trains their brain to slow down and think logically — exactly what the SEAG test rewards.

👉 You can practise this with just one word problem per night.

If you want word problems, my SEAG style worksheets are — exactly what you need. You can grab FIVE FREE DAYS below - they can be downloaded instantly. No card details needed. Just click below 👇

One of the most common questions I hear from anxious parents is this:

"My child reads the story but then gets the comprehension questions wrong. What are we doing wrong?"

It’s a frustrating situation, but the problem usually isn't the child's reading ability. The problem is they are reading the passage first.

The answers are all in the text, but the questions are the map that tells you where to look. The questions are designed to test different skills: retrieval (finding facts) and inference (reading between the lines). A child who doesn't know what they're looking for will miss everything.

Here is the single most effective strategy I teach, and you can try it tonight:

The 'Question First' Method

Cover the Passage: Before reading a single word of the story, have your child read Question 1 only.

Identify Keywords: Ask them, "What key words do we need to hunt for in the text?" (e.g., a character's name, a specific object, a feeling).

Go on the Hunt: Now, they can read the passage, but they are not just reading; they are actively scanning for those keywords. When they find one, they should underline it.

Answer the Question: Once the evidence is found and underlined, they can answer the question with confidence.

Repeat: Cover the passage again and move to Question 2.

By doing this, you are turning passive reading into an active, evidence-based mission. You are teaching them to think like an examiner.

Practising this skill for 15 minutes a day builds a powerful habit that is far more effective than reading ten stories back-to-back.

𝗪𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗳𝘂𝗹? 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗚 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱? 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

I'm a SEAG tutor and I'm begging you please stop the 1-hour practice papers (until closer to the date of the transfer test).

Every single week, I speak to parents in NI who are at their wit's end.

The kitchen table has become a battleground.

Tears, arguments, and slammed doors... all over a practice paper that is probably doing more harm than good.

You feel like you're failing them if you don't do it, and you're crushing their spirit if you do.

It's a horrible feeling. I get it.

But what if I told you that marathon 1-hour session is one of the LEAST effective ways to prepare your child?

It’s true.

The brain doesn't learn well when it's stressed and exhausted. It learns through calm consistency.

🧠 Little and often is the secret.

So, I am officially giving you permission to STOP the nightly battles.

Instead, try this tonight (it takes 15 minutes, that's it):

1️⃣ Pick ONE single comprehension question from a past paper. Just one.

2️⃣ Work through it TOGETHER. No pressure, no timer. Get curious about the answer.

3️⃣ Celebrate finding the solution. High-five, have a biscuit, whatever it is!

That's it. You're done for the day.

That positive, 15-minute win is worth more than a 60-minute struggle. You are building their confidence, not their resentment.

Tell me in the comments: Which subject causes the most arguments in your house - Maths or English?

P.S. If you know another parent who is feeling the SEAG pressure, please share this post with them. You could save their sanity this week!

☀️ Summer holidays are here! But for 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝟲/𝗣𝟳 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘀, is there a quiet worry simmering about keeping those academic skills sharp?

It's completely normal to feel that nudge!

While summer is for fun and rest, studies 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚 "𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞" – 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

For pupils facing the November 2025 SEAG Transfer Test, or even those with important end-of-year exams for class allocation, a complete break from learning can mean playing catch-up later, which adds extra stress.

But here's the good news: 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞!

That's why our 8-Week SEAG Worksheet Series is designed to be your summer secret weapon! Crafted by a SEAG-qualified tutor, these worksheets provide the perfect structured way to:

Prevent the "summer slide": Keep English and Maths skills ticking over.

Build true confidence: Familiarise your child with SEAG-style questions in a low-pressure environment.

Prepare smartly: Lay solid foundations for the Transfer Test AND those crucial class allocation exams.
