The school has always been actively involved in competition and has produced many Champions at Ulster, All Ireland & Int. The Heraghty School of Irish Dancing was established over 30 years ago under the direction of the founder member, Mary Heraghty TCRG. The school has always been actively involved in competition and has produced many Champions at Ulster, All Ireland & International and World levels. In March 2010, Seana Heraghty TCRG joined the Heraghty School of Irish Dancing as a teacher in the School. Seana had competed with the Heraghty School from the age of three before attaining her Teaching qualification. In April 2017, Seamus McKinney TCRG joined the Heraghty School of Irish Dancing as a teacher in the School. Seamus danced and competed with the Heraghty School from aged four before going on to achieve his Teaching qualification. Mary, Seana and Seamus are pleased to have launched the Heraghty & McKinney School of Irish Dancing in April 2017. Students at our School participate in a programme geared to both competitive and recreational dancing, with the option to participate in Grading Examinations. There is an emphasis on technique, style and posture while developing strength and fitness. Classes are available for all levels of dancer, from those attending as a leisure activity to those who wish to participate in competition.
