We’re now taking bookings for private 2-to-1 Judo for BJJ & Takedown sessions with Colin Savage at Kombat Jiu Jitsu.

Colin brings 50 years of martial arts experience to the mat, combining high-level competitive experience with decades of coaching:

🥋 6th Dan Judo
🥋 BJJ Brown Belt
🏆 Former Irish, British & Commonwealth Judo Champion
🥉 World Masters Medallist
🌍 International coaching experience
🌍 Experience coaching BJJ athletes competing at European and IBJJF World Championship level

These sessions will focus specifically on Judo and takedowns for BJJ, with Colin working with two people at a time to break down technique, troubleshoot problems and help develop your stand-up game.

£40 per session | £20 each

Tonight we’re giving a special shout-out to one of our longest-standing members, Darren, who has been training with us at Kombat for what seems like a lifetime!

Darren is one of the original OGs, having been with us almost from the very beginning. He has recently graduated after completing his Doctorate in Chemistry — a fantastic achievement after 7 years of university education.

What makes it even more impressive is that throughout those years, Darren has continued to train consistently in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, balancing the demands of university with his commitment to the mats.

A massive congratulations from everyone at Kombat. We’re proud to have watched you achieve this and even prouder to have you as part of the team. 🥋🎓👏

Tonight Colin Savage was awarded his well earned Brown Belt by coach Stephen Mc Daid.

Colin is a 6th Dan in Judo with 50 years of martial arts experience and over a decade dedicated to BJJ.

His Judo achievements include Irish, British and Commonwealth titles, alongside a World Masters medal.

He has trained and coached internationally, including in France, the Middle East and Japan.

He has also helped many BJJ athletes compete at national, international, European and IBJJF World Championship level.

Colin is an incredible coach with a rare ability to find simple solutions to complex problems.

This promotion is thoroughly deserved.
