We had four kids from the Team Torres - Derry academy competing today at the Solid Ground BJJ Tournament.
#
πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆ

Their efforts returned three golds and a silver β€” and every single one of our kids got at least two matches.
#
More importantly, they all went out there, competed hard and fought really well. πŸ‘Š
#
Thats 5 πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡ from six attendees conpeting in the past few weeks.
#
A little-known fact about our kids programme is that we have a small competition team performing at the highest level of IBJJF competition.
#
With sibblings and spear heading our kids competition team over the past few years.
#
Bringing medals back from Pans - Europeans - Elite worlds and a host of other competitions.
#
These young attendees travelling around the world competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and getting great results against some of the best young athletes in the sport.
#
But behind those kids is an army of young people who simply love coming to the mats.
#
Some want to compete. Some might compete one day. Some probably never will.
#
And that's absolutely fine.
#
Because competition isn't the only measure of what jiu-jitsu can give a child.
#
For us, jiu-jitsu is a vehicle for building resilience, problem-solving, confidence, discipline and friendship.
#
They learn to deal with pressure.
#
They learn to lose and get back up.
#
They learn to solve problems when things aren't going their way.
#
And they build friendships through the battles, the hard rounds and the camaraderie on the mat.
#
That's what we're really proud of.
#
The medals are fantastic.
#
But the well rounded & respectful young adults is the goal.
