What was your favourite Roald Dahl book?

In honour of Roald Dahl day which was celebrated during the week, I thought I would share a famous quote by the man himself…

“I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.”

Growing up, Roald Dahl was my favourite author….I read his books over and over again and now I love reading them to my own children. His books were funny, heart warming and offered a feeling of magic to the reader.

As a parent, teacher and tutor I can’t stress how important it is for a child to read daily or to be read to! Daily reading can benefit a child’s language skills, communication and social skills, well being and mental health.
