A successful Baby Sensory franchisee will need a range of qualities including:

Did you know that October is International School Library Month?

Libraries have been an essential resource for learning and children's development for hundreds of years.

School libraries, in particular, play an important role in a child's education and are often where a child is introduced to a library for the first time.

Aside from encouraging children to read and help them to improve their vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and grammar school libraries provide equal opportunities for children, irrespective of their home-life and other constraints.

Ever wondered how Toddler Sense started?

Our multi-award winning programme for toddlers was created by Dr Lin Day, one of the UK’s leading parenting experts and a renowned feature writer and speaker within the field of childcare and education.

Her story began right back in 1974 when she trained as a nurse and spent much of that time working with babies and young children. Following the birth of her 4th child, in 1987, she then went on to open a Nursery school and it is here that she created many different sensory activities for babies and children. These were developed, tested and refined and have gone on to be used in Toddler Sense classes today.

If outer space still feels like a bit of an alien concept to your toddler, why not try this experiment about something a little closer to home? - clouds!

This cloud in a jar experiment is highly visual which supports eye tracking and concentration; valuable skills that are important when learning to read.

To create your cloud in a jar you will need:
➡A jar or glass
➡Shaving foam - white if possible and not gel
➡Coloured water, blue is great to represent rain
➡Medicine syringe
