Water day 💦 🌞

The children in both little acorns and mighty oaks have enjoyed a water day at pre school today due to the weather being so hot!!
They joined together for the morning in their swimming costumes and enjoyed lots of water fun with their friends and the adults !!
They washed the babies, added water to the slide, had lots of fun with the water cactus and water guns as well as exploring some water small world set ups!!! 💦

If your little one would like to come in their swim stuff the rest of the week we will be having some more water fun in the sun! 🌞

🌞 Please check the UV before attending pre school. anything 3 and above we ask your little ones to come with their sun cream pre applied! Thank you for your support with this. 🌞

We use these indicators to show what the UV will be and what action should be taken to stay safe in the sun.

Today is World Environment Day 🌍 and so the children in Little Acorns have been learning about how they can do their bit to look after the environment !! ⭐️

The children enjoyed exploring a litter themed bluey table inside! Helping the adults sort the rubbish and using the characters to engage in some imaginary play together !

They were also shocked by the mess someone had made in the garden this morning, litter everywhere !!!! The children worked together to litter pick and collect all the rubbish! Well done Little Acorns

School Readiness ! 🌈

Coming back from the half term Mighty oaks have enjoyed engaging in some school readiness play!

The children have been trying out some school uniforms together and engaging in some road safety role play!
We will be talking a lot about school over the next few weeks, getting the children ready and excited for their next adventure! ⭐️

We will also be starting our school transition mornings over at the school the week commencing the 22nd June!

Donations needed 📚

Our book sale at Morrisons has been such a success that we are extending it for another week! Meaning that we will be selling books there until 31/05/2026, fundraising money for the children at the pre school!

We are asking for more book donations please! All welcome but especially in need of adult books! 📖 If you have any your happy to donate please bring these to Morrison’s.

World Bee Day 🐝

To celebrate world bee day the children at pre school have been enjoying some bee themed activities throughout the week!

We have had some bee themed playdough activities to explore, some bee sensory trays including coloured rice, honeycomb shapes and little bees! 🐝 As well as some bee painting activities where the children could create their own bees and honeycombs using tissue paper, bubble wrap and coloured card!

The children in Mighty oaks had a special treat this week, sharing and learning all about Bees together! Gemma our staff member in mighty oaks is currently going through training so she can become a bee keeper and own her own bees, and so the children got to share some pictures from Gemma's bee classes and got to learn lots about how to look after bees! They also got to try some honey on bread today at snack time! 🐝

Here are some bee facts that we have learnt this week -
1. Bees communicate through a wiggle dance!
2. There are more than 20,000 different species of bees
3. Bees make the buzzing noise because of their wings
4. In one visit bees can visit 50-100 different flowers 🌸
