What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had here at Cocos Adventures Childminding 🌟

The children have enjoyed lots of exciting outings and adventures including visits to Dinky Dinos 🦕, Freddie’s Play Kingdom 🎈 and Infinite Wellbeing in Heanor 💛, we have attended playgroups and met up with other childminders and their lovely children, had lots of walks out enjoying the dry patches of weather, whilst getting the fresh air we have been listening to the wind and bird sounds and looking at the trees and flowers around us. We’ve also been on shopping trips to Costco and Asda, which are all amazing opportunities for learning and development.

Through these real-life experiences the children have been building confidence with social interaction, developing early maths skills, exploring their surroundings, problem solving, counting ducks 🦆, taking turns and practising counting up to 3, all supporting the prime areas of learning within the EYFS.

This week we also introduced Makaton sign language during rhyme time 🎶 and the children absolutely loved joining in!

I am so incredibly proud of how much the children’s physical development and communication skills are progressing. Watching them grow in confidence, curiosity and independence is such a joy every single day 🥰

To all of my term-time only children, have a lovely half term and I’ll see you all after my holiday ☀️

To my all-year-round children, I’ll see you next week for another fun and hopefully sunny week ahead 🌞

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!

Love,
Chloe (aka Coco) 💕

What a lovely few weeks we’ve had here at Coco’s Adventures Childminding ☀️💛

We’ve been out and about making wonderful memories with trips to Denby Pottery Village, Elvaston Castle, Tubby Bears Play Centre and Alvaston Park. We also had a fantastic time at Rhythm and Rhyme at Danceworks Unlimited in Spondon 🎶

The children have really enjoyed lots of meet ups with other lovely childminders and their wonderful children too, it’s so lovely to see the friendships and confidence growing each week 🥰

Recently we’ve been focusing on counting to 5 and learning the difference between big and small through lots of fun activities and play-based learning. Our favourite story this week has been Jack and the Beanstalk🌱 and our song of the week has definitely been Wind the Bobbin Up with plenty of actions and giggles along the way!

The sunny weather has meant lots of outdoor fun and the children have absolutely loved our new water play toy 💦☀️

And to top it all off, we had another very exciting delivery today… building materials have arrived ready for the groundwork to begin on our new garden building! I cannot wait to create even more fun, learning and special memories in our new space 🏡✨

I’m still loving absolutely everything about this job and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that this is what I get paid to do ❤️

My little adventurers at Cocos Adventures Childminding now have their very own brand new hi-vis vests! 💛 Designed especially for my little people, these will help keep everyone safe and easy to spot while we’re out exploring the world around us.

We can’t wait to see them wearing them on our daily adventures, whether it’s trips to the park, nature walks, or exploring our local community 🌿

Safety, fun, and adventure always come first here at Cocos Adventures! Stay tuned for lots of photos of our little explorers in action 📸

A Big thank you to Hamiltons Embroidery for always providing the best quality personalised garments for my little business. Highly recommended 🫶🏻.

🌞 Warm Weather Update from Coco’s Adventures Childminding 🌞

As the warmer weather arrives, we’ll be making the most of the sunshine while keeping your little ones safe, happy, and comfortable 💛

At Coco’s Adventures, I will be:
☀️ Encouraging lots of play in the shade
💧 Providing plenty of fluids and regular water breaks throughout the day
🧴 Applying sun cream regularly to protect delicate skin
👒 Supporting children to wear sun hats during outdoor play
🏡 Taking all steps to keep the house cool and comfortable indoors

🌿 What I need from you:
Please ensure your child has a sun hat in their bag every day so they can stay protected while we enjoy outdoor activities.

My priority is always to create a safe, caring, and fun environment, whatever the weather ☀️

Thank you for your support! 💕

We’ve been making the most of the beautiful sunshine here at Coco’s Adventures Childminding 🌞
and just had to share a little glimpse of our fun filled days with you all!

The children have been absolutely loving our water and sand play in the garden splashing, pouring, digging, building, and exploring. These activities aren’t just fun (although there’s plenty of that!), they also support all the Prime Areas of Learning within the EYFS. From developing communication and language as we chat and describe what we’re doing, to building physical skills through scooping, pouring, and fine motor control, and strengthening personal, social and emotional development as the children play together, share, and grow in confidence.

It’s been so lovely to see how settled and happy the children are becoming. They are forming friendships, exploring their environment with curiosity, and growing in independence every day. I honestly couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them 💛

We’ve been having so much fun, we just had to share it with you all!

We’ve had such a lovely few days at Cocos Adventures Childminding, with some of these special moments coming from the end of last week too 💛

The children have been busy with dentist role play and lots of dry tooth brushing, helping us learn all about keeping our teeth healthy. We also made a special poster to support one of our mummies for her marathon on Sunday we hope you had an amazing run, we are all proud of you!

There’s been so much fun with water play, tonies box time, rhyme time and musical instruments, as well as playing on bikes and scooters, trips to playgroups, and lots of lovely walks. We’ve enjoyed story time, dancing with scarves, exploring sensory tiles, and imaginative play with rockets and astronauts 🚀

The fun really never stops, and I’m so proud of all my little people, you bring me so much joy every day. As we begin a new week, I’m so excited to keep building our routine and watch us all continue to grow together 💫
