Even though it’s the school holidays, we’re still practising our instruments! 🎶🎺🥁

Because apparently, “holiday” doesn’t mean “put the instrument down and forget everything you’ve learned.” 😂

So while the rest of the family were having a lie in, we got up early for a days playing in Chester.

Keep practising, keep improving, and remember… scales don’t take holidays! 🎵😂

Derby Music Centre players at the Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership DDSO concert at Repton school on Sunday.
After working incredibly hard over their three day residential orchestra course at Denstone College, the players were joined by Derbyshire Junior Choir at the concert.
The programme was dynamic, the performances were energetic and exciting and the audience enjoyed every minute.
Well done to all the performers, but especially our very own DMC crew.

What an absolutely wonderful day it was! We were treated to fantastic performances from everyone, and it was a joy to see so much talent, enthusiasm, and confidence on display.

Hello everyone,

An email was sent out last night with all the concert details.

Just to add, rehearsals will take place as usual at Beaufort in the morning. Please pick up your children at the normal time and then bring them to Derby Grammar School for the concerts in the afternoon or evening, as detailed in the email.

This is our last DMC day of the school year. Our next DMC day will be on **19th September**.

☀️ **Rehearsals are going ahead tomorrow!** ☀️

Although the weather is forecast to be very hot, we will still be holding rehearsals tomorrow, especially with our concert taking place next Saturday.

To help keep everyone comfortable, a member of staff will arrive early to open windows and doors to get plenty of fresh air flowing through the rehearsal space.

Please make sure your child:
💧 Brings a named water bottle.
👕 Wears loose, cool clothing.

We'll also make sure there are regular playing breaks between pieces to give everyone a chance to rest and rehydrate.

A super concert line up on June 19th, for a worthy cause.

If you have children aged between 7 and 14 and are at a loose end on the first Monday of half term there's a free steelpans workshop at St Anne's Church between 9.30 and 3.30. They're even providing lunch!
