We are monitoring the outbreak of meningitis in Kent closely and will continue to provide updates. For now, know the symptoms, look out for one another and maintain hygienic practices.

If you’re feeling unwell, it’s important to know the signs and symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia, these include a rash, stiff neck or a severe headache. Look out for each other and seek medical advice quickly if you or someone you know is unwell.

Check with your GP to ensure your vaccinations are up to date including the MenACWY and MMR vaccines.

Make sure you’re registered with a GP, especially if you’re living away from home – you never know when you might need them. We have a GP surgery at Kedleston Road called Park Medical Practice. You can also call 111 for non-urgent medical care.
