We are so grateful for the dedicated support of our volunteers who faithfully serve Emmanuel School each week by coming into school and supporting our staff and pupils. Making sure our children are heard read consistently throughout the week is a top priority and their support in helping us to do this is invaluable. Thank you!

Key Stage 1 and 2 enjoyed a brilliant trip embracing nature at Conkers. Years 3-6 were tasked with building a watertight den which was certainly put the test in a torrential downpour! Lots of rain, lots of mud and lots of fun was had by all!

Nursery and Reception enjoyed a fantastic trip to Bluebell Dairy as part of their topic 'Haven't You Grown!'. The children interacted with so many different animals, including a pair of hissing cockroaches and a tarantula! Thank you to Max and the Bluebell Farm team for providing us with a really educational visit and a very fun day out!

It is such a pleasure and a joy to put on this fantastic event for our pupils - the Emmanuel School Disco. It's such a fun evening in which we can all let our hair down and just boogie. A big thank you to Church for letting us use your fantastic facilities for our disco.

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed a fantastic Art unit exploring the medium of Street Art. This involved a trip into Derby city centre to look at lots of different examples of Street Art. Back at school, the children created their their own graffiti boards with spray paints and they even got permission from the council to decorate our large wheelie bin. The children had so much fun being creative and learning how to use different art materials and techniques.

It's 'Travelling Tuesdays' on Year 1 and 2's 'Around the World in 80 Days' tour. Last week they were in Jamaica where they danced to Reggae music, ate plantain and read John 3:16 in Jamaican Patois. Mrs. Gunter showed the children traditional Jamaican clothes and the children dressed up in lots of vibrant colours too. The islands that make up the Caribbean are so beautiful!

Last half-term we said "Au revoir" and a huge, heart felt thank you to Ms. Kay. Ms. Kay has served Emmanuel School in so many ways; as our French teacher, Teaching Assistant and by championing and developing our provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs. She will be greatly missed and we thank God for her years of dedicated service to Emmanuel School. Ms. Kay, we pray every blessing on you as you begin your new adventure.
