Feel Alive Hub CIC Feel Alive Hub CIC aim to support neurodivergent adults towards leading more fulfilling lives. Feel Alive drama group is located at a different venue.

The centre is a very social place that encourages independance and confidence building as well as promoting physical and mental health. Feel Alive Hub CIC aims to support adults with learning disabilities to encourage choices, create activities, achieve life skills and enable work related and leisure opportunities to promote independence and confidence building. This will be achieved using individual care plans based on the service user’s needs that will help them achieve their full potential. We aim to link with local colleges and universities to access educational courses that will create new opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and with our support access voluntary and employment sector. We aim to develop relationships with local organisations and businesses to promote a wider range of inclusive community activities. Feel Alive Drama Group runs on Tuesday afternoons and cost £10 per session. Adults attending the club come together to learn acting skills and singing skills and aim to entertain audiences by putting together two shows a year. Adults do not have to be a member of Feel Alive Hub CIC to attend the drama group. Both Groups aim to provide a friendly, safe and fun environment.

This morning, a few of the girls fancied watching Beauty and the Beast 🌹🏰, so that’s exactly what they did! They then spent the rest of the day enjoying a lovely mix of crafts, including peg creations, cross-stitch and some beautiful pearl artwork. 🧵🎨✨ A nice, relaxed and creative day!

Meanwhile, Sean, Matthew, Natalie, Kieran and Babette were VERY busy clearing out and making space for our new classroom and new woodwork room! 🪚🔨📚

We were so busy that we completely forgot to take photos — sorry! 😂 But if you’re dropping someone off at the Hub or happen to be passing by, just take a look at the skip outside… that will tell you how hard we’ve worked! 😂💪

Today we split into two groups!

🚌 One group headed to Max Road by bus, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch prepared and served by the St Andrew's Academy students – burgers, chips & salad followed by chocolate brownie! 🍔🍟🥗🍫 We even fitted in a game of Guess the Logo! 🤔

It was lovely to be back at Max Road, where our Gathering Place first began, and to see a new group of students developing their cooking and customer service skills. We feel very privileged to play a small part in supporting their learning. 💙👏

🚶 And after all that food, we walked all the way back to the Hub – so plenty of exercise too! 😅

Meanwhile, back at the Hub, our woodwork teams were busy! 🔨🪚 One team made a fantastic wall plaque with hooks for our woodwork room, while the other created a brilliant birdhouse with two planters. 🐦🌸🌿

Fantastic work everyone – lots of teamwork, practical skills, learning and fun! 👏💙🙌

🎭 WHAT A BRILLIANT AFTERNOON OF AUDITIONS! 🎭

A huge thank you to our audition panel today for giving up their time to help us cast our next show.

It was really important to us to have a good mix of people on the panel, bringing different experience and perspectives, and we couldn't have asked for a fairer process. In fact, when the scores and choices came together, our panel were remarkably consistent in who they felt suited each role!

A massive thank you to:

🌟 Rachel from Tegan's Butterflies in Paradise for giving up her time to join us and bring an independent voice to the panel.

🌟 Mark, one of our Hub staff, who has now joined our drama team and will be helping with support and the technical side of our productions.

🌟 Kieran, also from our Hub team, who knows our adults incredibly well and understands their individual abilities – including when they can be challenged and stretched a little further!

🌟 Charlotte, who very kindly volunteered her time today. Charlotte is trained in performing arts and is also a vocal coach with lots of experience. We're hoping she'll be joining us for some future sessions to work with us all on performance skills and singing.

And although she isn't in the photo, a big thank you to Mel, one of our parents. Mel didn't score individual auditions but observed the whole process, provided general feedback and helped us ensure that the auditions and final decisions were fair.

And then came the best bit... announcing the parts!

There were LOTS of cheers! Some people didn't get the part they originally hoped for, but nobody was upset – because our performers know that sometimes we see something different in them, or we know they're capable of being stretched even further in another role.

We were incredibly proud of the way everyone auditioned and supported one another today.

So... the cast has been chosen. The parts have been announced.

And next week, rehearsals officially begin! 🎭

Two staff down today… but we still made it through the day — and WHAT a team! 💙💪🌟🙌

👨‍🍳🍽️ They might not have been able to pronounce “Hachis Parmentier” 😂🤣🇫🇷, but they could certainly cook it! And WOW — what an amazing job they did! 👏👏👏 Absolutely delicious and something to be very proud of. 😋🥘✨

🍽️💁‍♀️ A HUGE well done to our waitressing team too! They were left working almost independently during service today and absolutely smashed it! 💪🌟 Looking after our customers, keeping everything going and sending everyone away with smiles on their faces. 😊❤️👏

🍂🧵✂️ Meanwhile, the rest of the group worked together to create a beautiful autumn leaf, putting all those sewing skills they’ve been practising to good use. 🍁🍃🪡 It looks absolutely gorgeous! 😍 There was lots of chatting 💬 plenty of laughter 😂 and one particularly brilliant moment when someone FINALLY managed to thread the cotton through the eye of the needle! 🪡🧵🎉 The whole group cheered! 👏🥳🎉Sometimes those little achievements feel absolutely HUGE. ❤️🌟

And a special mention for Declan! 👏💙 Until today, he had never used a needle and thread or stitched anything before — and he took to it brilliantly! 🪡✨ In the space of just TWO weeks, he’s discovered the ukulele 🎶🎸 and now sewing too! 🧵🍂 Seeing that smile when he realised, “Actually, I can do this!” was just lovely. 🥰❤️

Today was hard going, but as always, members and staff pulled together, supported one another and got on with it. 💪🤝💙

If you find that you cannot come in through our usual entrance, please use the Chapel entrance instead. We have scaffolding being erected around the Hub today, so we cannot guarantee that the front entrance will be accessible.

🌟🎤 What a fantastic day we had yesterday at Tegan’s Talent Show! 🎤🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the event and cheer on all the incredible performers. The atmosphere was brilliant, and it was lovely to see so many people there supporting each other.

We certainly didn’t envy the judges! Their job was incredibly difficult because every single person who took part showed just how much talent, courage and determination they have. Standing up in front of an audience and performing takes real bravery, and every performer should feel incredibly proud of what they achieved. ❤️

🎸 This morning the group enjoyed their monthly ukulele class, and they are coming on so well! It’s fantastic to see how much their confidence and skills are growing each month. 🎶

📺 Then, in the afternoon, things got a little crazy as the guys took on the challenge of creating their very own Breakfast TV Show!

We had it all — presenters, a glam team, a weather man, gossip reporters and even a very special guest star… an Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast! 🥇🤸‍♀️

There was plenty of creativity, laughter and teamwork as everyone got into their roles and brought their very own TV studio to life! 🎬📺
