Outstanding teaching from industry experts in first-class facilities will ensure you develop all the right skills for the workplace of the future. And we use our strong industry links to help you apply your learning with practical experience in real work situations. Our main campus is in Derby and has four sites: Kedleston Road, Markeaton Street, Britannia Mill and One Friar Gate Square. There’s also our Enterprise Centre where some of our professional courses are taught. Some of our Nursing courses are also taught in Chesterfield, 30 miles from Derby. Our Chesterfield site is a Centre of Excellence for Health and offers superb hi-tech facilities, including an NHS-standard six-bed mock ward and Immersive Interactive Simulation Suite which replicates emergency scenarios.

We are proud to have raised the Pan-African flag at our Kedleston Road site today to celebrate the theme of Honouring Our Communities for 2026.

The flag will be flying throughout October and recognises the individuals whose everyday contributions shape, support and sustain Black life across the United Kingdom.

Five wins, six pole positions and two podiums - we are Radical Cup UK champions! 🏆🏎️

Our Motorsport Engineering students, staff and driver Gordie Mutch have had an incredible season, securing the championship at the final round at Donington Park.

Our students have been at the heart of the action and were involved in vehicle preparation, race engineering, data analysis, simulation, setup optimisation and trackside operations.

The season also took the team to Barcelona for the Radical Europe Cup and World Finals - where they finished second after an intense contest decided by 0.2 seconds 👏

Congratulations to everyone in the University of Derby team 🎉

From studying Illustration at Derby to seeing her work published internationally 🌎🎓

Meet freelance illustrator Emma Latham, who graduated from our Illustration course in 2009.

Emma has created characters and illustrations for publishers including HarperCollins, Hachette, Magellan and Brilliant Monsters Books, with her work also exhibited in London and Paris.

On choosing , Emma said: “I chose Derby because I wasn’t sure what specialism to choose at the time, and Derby covered all of it.

“I also really liked the facilities, especially the printmaking studio and library. It’s a great location, too, so close to the Peak District, which I love exploring in my spare time.”

Today, Emma continues to work as a freelance illustrator, bringing her characters and creative ideas to audiences around the world 👏

Our Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation students brushed shoulders with Olympians including Sir Chris Hoy at the annual Tour de 4 charity cycling event in Glasgow 🚲

Jess, Harasees and Nicole worked in association with LiveWell Clinics to support athletes competing in the event.

Jess said: "The event was fantastic. As sports therapists, we offered massages, compression boots, ice baths, hot steam saunas, muscle guns and more.

"We got to spend a lot of time with athletes including Sir Chris Hoy, Rebecca Adlington, Victoria Pendleton, Sir Jason Kenny and Dame Laura Kenny.

The event was set up by Sir Chris and brings together people affected by cancer, with four inclusive cycling options range from a 1km family ride and a static-bike challenge to the 56-mile Red Ride.

Well done to everyone involved 👏
