π T Levels are turning ambition into opportunity at Derby College Group
From hospital laboratories to engineering workshops, gaming studios to boardrooms, DCG students are proving that T Levels are one of the most powerful routes into real careers, with this year's results translating into degree apprenticeships, university places and jobs with the very employers who hosted their industry placements.
This year, a record 152 students completed their T Levels, up from 85 last year, studying across eight subject areas.
β¨ T Level Highlights:
β
152 students completed their T Levels
β
25% achieved a Distinction, equivalent to three A grades at A Level
β
80% achieved a Merit or above
β
Six of the eight subject areas achieved a 100% pass rate
Some standout achievements included:
π§ Engineering - 90% of students achieved a Distinction
π» Digital - 57% of students achieved a Distinction
π Education & Early Years - 60% of students achieved a Distinction
These fantastic results reflect not only the dedication of our students and staff, but also the strength of the employer partnerships that sit at the heart of every T Level programme.
π¬ Matt Ridgill, Vice Principal, Academic Education, said:
"This year's results are a real step forward for T Levels at Derby College Group, and for the students who put their trust in this qualification.
"To see 152 students complete their courses, and six of our eight subjects achieve a 100% pass rate, shows just how far T Levels have come and how well our students, staff and employer partners have risen to the challenge.
"T Levels matter because they give young people something a classroom alone cannot: real experience of the workplace, alongside rigorous technical study.
"That combination is exactly what employers are looking for, and exactly what our students need to move confidently into their next step, whether that is higher education, an apprenticeship or straight into a career.
"I could not be prouder of what our students and staff have achieved this year."
π Student Success Stories:
Rhys Allen achieved a Distinction in T Level Engineering and has secured a degree apprenticeship in mechanical engineering with Taudevin, the company where he completed his placement.
"I've been working there since I finished my placement and am really pleased to be taken on as a degree apprentice."
Emilia Wuss is heading to Staffordshire University to study Games Development and Design after completing her T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development.
Emilia completed her industry placement at Vaillant, where she worked with the product design team and even delivered a presentation to the company's CEO.
Frankie Palmer achieved a Distinction in T Level Business and Management and has secured a degree apprenticeship with Bowmer & Kirkland, after impressing during her placement.
Maria Kearney achieved a Distinction in T Level Science and now works as a laboratory technician for Syensqo, building on experience gained during her T Level placement in Derby.
Mysha Fatima, Lakshika Aarya and Nuha Rashid developed a strong friendship through their T Level Science studies and placement at Royal Derby Hospital. All three are now progressing into the next stage of their careers and higher education journeys.
Whether progressing to university, a higher or degree apprenticeship, or directly into employment, our T Level students are leaving DCG with the skills, experience and confidence needed to succeed.
Congratulations to every student receiving their results this year. We're incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success for the futureπ
