The Association for Language Learning (ALL) is the UK’s major subject association for teachers of foreign languages. We support and represent teachers of all languages, at all stages, in all sectors.

We are delighted to announce Richard Tallaron as ALL Fellow for 2026

Richard is a passionate advocate for languages and intercultural understanding, and is the author of 'A Taste of Languages', a book designed to bring the history and richness of links between the French and English languages into classrooms through storytelling and pupil-led enquiry. Through initiatives such as “Meet the Author”, he actively connects learners with authentic language experiences and promotes curiosity about language and culture.

Please join us in congratulating Richard.

A webinar with and : Getting KS4 French/Spanish students ready for the GCSE Part 2 (Free)

We are very grateful to leaders in the Harris Federation who are willing to share their expertise with the wider community. Their session in November 2025 was extremely well received and is available for viewing here.

Teachers currently teaching Year 11 in particular will be keen to pick up ideas as they prepare for the first exam of a new specification.

The references will be drawn from Edexcel French and Spanish but the principles can be applied to both exam boards in French, Spanish and German.

ALL webinar on DfE consultation on KS4 performance measures, in particular Progress 8 (Free)In this webinar Koglbauer [Chair of ALL] will summarise the Curriculum and Assessment Review from a ML perspective, and David Blow [ALL Fellow and Executive Headteacher of SESSET] will give the background to the proposals for changing Progress 8, and describe their possible implications for ML.

This is intended both to encourage individual responses to the consultation, and help form the ALL response.
