Danielle Birchall recently achieved the BOHS Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene (DipOH)!

Recognised as one of the profession’s most respected qualifications, the DipOH demonstrates advanced knowledge, practical expertise and professional judgement in occupational hygiene. Achieving it is a significant milestone and reflects a real commitment to protecting worker health.

As BOHS delivers its 2026 - 2030 Strategy, developing competent professionals remains central to our vision of a future where prevention is at the heart of worker health protection. Qualifications such as the DipOH help build the expertise, leadership and capability needed to make that vision a reality.

We caught up with Danielle to hear about her experience of working towards the qualification, the challenges she faced along the way, and the advice she would give to others considering taking the next step in their occupational hygiene career.
