Repton Prep is a co-educational independent day and boarding prep school for children age 3-13 in the heart of England. At our beautiful 55-acre site your child will stay a child for longer, encouraged throughout their school life to develop in confidence and self-esteem into their best selves. We aim to encourage our pupils to use their minds well, to understand their societal responsibilities, to make wise judgements; to be able to discriminate between right and wrong, good and better. 🌙🦉 Nocturnal Nature Day in Year 1!

Today, Year 1 explored the fascinating world of nocturnal animals with a special visit from Animal Encounters Derbyshire.

The children discovered what makes an animal nocturnal, how different creatures are adapted to life after dark, and the ways they survive and find food at night. They also had the chance to hold, stroke and get up close to a wonderful variety of animals! 🐍🦔🦉

A brilliant hands-on experience that brought their learning to life! ✨

£6,000 raised for the YMCA! 💙

Friday night looked a little different at Repton Prep… 🌙

Dinner outside, s’mores around the fire, cardboard boxes turned into beds and a night sleeping in the sports hall! 🔥📦

Our pupils took part in the YMCA Sleep Out, swapping their usual Friday night routines for an evening of fun, teamwork and a little bit of adventure, all while raising an incredible £6,000 for the YMCA.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the night one to remember! 💙

Where does your sporting journey start? 🏃‍♀️🏑⚽️

At Repton Prep, we believe Sport for All means every child has the opportunity to take part, have fun, develop their skills and discover what they are capable of, whatever their ability, interests or ambitions.

And every sporting journey has to start somewhere.

From their very first days in school, pupils are encouraged to move, play, explore and have a go. In EYFS and KS1, they develop fundamental movement skills, build confidence and learn to work with others. As they progress through the school, they discover a wide range of sports and opportunities to challenge themselves and find what they enjoy.

But Sport for All isn’t just about winning. It’s about trying something new, supporting your teammates, getting back up, having another go and achieving your own personal best.

At Repton Prep, we’re proud to give every child the opportunity to find their place in sport and discover where their sporting journey might take them.

💻 National Coding Week at Repton Prep!

As part of National Coding Week, Year 6 have been tackling a coding challenge set by Rolls-Royce, creating their own maze game using Scratch.

Later this term, Year 7 will explore physical coding using programmable micro:bits, while Year 8 will be creating their own mobile apps in the Lent Term.

Pupils are also discovering how coding skills are used across the industry and the exciting career opportunities they can lead to. 🚀

This fantastic achievement recognises the hard work and commitment to geography across our school, celebrating the rich and engaging experiences our pupils enjoy both inside and beyond the classroom.

Our success is supported by an incredible, hardworking team and excellent facilities, creating an environment where our pupils can explore the world around them, develop their geographical understanding and be inspired by the subject.

A little piece of Foremarke Hall’s history has come home. 🖼️

On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome the family of Tom Davies, Headmaster of Foremarke Hall from 1960–1985, as they returned to the school to donate six family portraits.

The portraits have a fascinating history, with connections to the Meriton family, maritime history and some remarkable characters - including Captain Richard Meriton and the extraordinary Jessie Jane Meriton White, known as ‘Hurricane Jessie’.

But perhaps most special of all is their connection to Foremarke itself. These portraits once hung on the grand staircase when the Hall was also the Davies family home, where Tom and Peggy lived for 25 years. Now, they have returned to the place where they once belonged. ❤️

We’re so excited to welcome these pieces of our history back to school and to add them to our growing archive of portraits and stories that help us celebrate the rich history of Repton Prep.

Thank you to the Davies family for entrusting them to us and helping us keep these connections alive.
