For the remainder of autumn term, children attending Tuesday morning will have the opportunity to access mini messy play sessions. The intent of the sessions is to nurture children's creativity disposition. Encouraging those who may not naturally access these resources, to get stuck in on a larger scale, developing motor skills and ideas. This morning was a hit, with the children talking about what they had enjoyed 🥰

As part of our Preschool curriculum we are looking at sustainability, modelling and teaching about the importance of looking after the world we live in. Each month we focus on things we can do to make a difference to our environment. We have started with litter picking and composting our leftover snack 🌎 🥰 Together we can make small changes which will make a difference

At the end of our first 2 weeks, our returning children are showing our new starters the ropes. There are still a few tears but they are turning to wonder and discovery. Friendships are being made and new experiences embraced 🥰

We're back!
Preschool just before the doors opened ready for our welcome session this morning. We are so looking forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow. We're going to have a fantastic year togehter 🥰

Autumn term starts this week!
Our Welcome session for new Preschool starters is Thursday 3rd September 9.30 to 11am. We're looking forward to term beginning fully on Friday 4th at 9.15am.
If you have a child at Preschool you can join our closed Facebook group Mickleover Methodist Preschool Parent Page Send a request with your child's name please to identify yourself, the group is for parents and carers only.

We're off on our summer adventures now until September 4th. If you are looking at our page for a September place, please ring 07811 756532 or email [email protected] we will check in occasionally over the summer and get back to you.
We look forward to welcoming our returning families back, and wish our school leavers the most amazing futures, we are going to miss you so much. Thank you for your kind words, gifts and cards. We had the best time sharing Preschool with you 😍🥰❤️

Water play from earlier in the week. This allowed so many learning opportunities. Discovery of water properties as containers were filled and poured, water running in different directions through tubes and guttering. Problem solving. Space and measure. Cooperative play. Language extention. Creative ideas and sharing of knowledge. Joy in 🥰

This was one of this morning's invitations to play. Cereal for building and creating. The intent was to make links with our local community building projects, favourite stories, and small world play. The children quickly discovered joy in crumbling the cereal, changing the direction of learning, following their own interests. Our skilled staff team played alongside to introduce and extend the learning to include patterns and shape, mark making and early writing skills, maths concepts such as empty and full, and skills to share and build relationships. All learning through play with an activity the children became deeply engaged in 🥰
