Yesterday on a nature walk

Completing my NNEB qualification between 1981 and 1983 laid the foundation for everything I have achieved in childcare over the past 40 years. Those early years of training gave me not only the practical skills, but also the understanding, patience, and compassion needed to support children in their development.

The knowledge I gained during that time has stayed with me throughout my career, shaping the way I care for, teach, and nurture the children in my setting. From learning about child development to creating safe, stimulating environments, the NNEB gave me a strong and lasting base that I have built on ever since.

Looking back, it wasn’t just a qualification—it was the beginning of a lifelong commitment to childcare. The values and principles I learned then continue to guide me today, and they are reflected in the care, consistency, and dedication I bring to every child I look after.
