At The Tutoring Room Littleover, Derby we believe that all children deserve a chance to reach their full potential. We offer private, individualized teaching/tutoring which will help each child gain confidence in core subjects and attain what they are truly capable of. At our tutoring centre in Littleover, Derby, we focus on the key skills in Maths and English from the ages of 5 to 16 years. Our c

entre is staffed by fully qualified and experienced teachers who are CRB checked and are currently working in local private and state schools. There are a variety of reasons why parents approach us. Some are concerned that their child lacks confidence and is therefore falling behind; others seek help to prepare for SATs, GCSEs or 11+ examinations. We have built up firm links with local schools and always aim to work in partnership with them. After an initial free assessment in Maths or English, children are placed with specialist teachers who are able to quickly identify and cater for their individual needs. How Our Tutoring Sessions Work

At The Tutoring Room in Littleover, Derby, children work on an individually planned lesson within a room of no more than five other children. This promotes a stimulating learning environment and helps to encourage independent learning and also confidence building. During the session each child receives one to one tutoring which helps to build confidence and aids in achieving their full potential. Simulating a small classroom environment enables each child to feel confident enough to repeatedly ask for help when needed, something which they would not do within a class of 30 + . We feed back to parents after every session to advise on your child’s progress and their next steps. Our sessions run every day after school during term time. We also run sessions during the school holidays so that continuity is achieved and your child’s progress does not falter. During the summer break we have a very popular programme to prepare children for the next academic year. Children find this very beneficial when moving from one Key Stage to another and especially at the time of transfer from primary to secondary school. Our one hour tutoring sessions includes computer based activities which reinforce the teaching, a marked piece of homework and a new homework set which ensures your child has new ideas reinforced in their home environment. We strive to make our sessions positive and encouraging, with a nurturing environment for your child that will show them how rewarding and empowering learning can be. We often find that many of our children make enormous progress after only a few lessons.
