It’s amazing how the little things help shape our little ones! See how a small activity can support their learning in different ways! 🍂🧸

Today we’ve been raising money for macmillan cancer support and research 💚

We’ve been busy baking and preparing some delicious goods for you to eat on the go or enjoy while dropping off your children! The children have loved trying out their baking too!

There’s still plenty left and we’ve love for you to grab some! A donation can be made through the barcodes around the nursery or in the jar in the entrance!

We will keep the barcodes up throughout the nursery next week for anyone who would like to donate to the cause and would like to thank you you all for your support or donations so far!

⭐️ A little staff appreciation… ⭐️

Last night, our amazing team stayed on for our staff meeting. We enjoyed some dinner together before getting stuck into a variety of activities and important updates, including:

🧸 Safeguarding exercises, discussions and updates
🍎 Looking into our Curriculum
🪩 Introducing Dough Disco into our routines
🦷 Tooth brushing

And, of course, we couldn’t start the evening without a sneaky game of hide and seek as an icebreaker! 😁🙈

To our amazing team at The Carlton — thank you. ❤️

Every single day, you show up with care, dedication and a passion for helping shape little lives. The first five years of a child’s life are incredibly important, and it is you who give your all to nurture, support, encourage and inspire our children during these precious years.

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, me hearties! 🏴‍☠️

We’ve had a great time celebrating Pirate Day here at Carlton Day Nursery! ⚓️🏴‍☠️

From getting stuck into messy tuff trays and creating our very own pirate-inspired masterpieces, to making delicious rocky road, our little pirates have been busy all day! 🍫🎨

And, of course, our pre-schoolers took on the ultimate pirate challenge… walking the plank! 🪵🏴‍☠️

There’s been plenty of fun, laughter and adventure along the way — take a look for yourselves! ⚓️💙

This week in pre-school we have been talking about recycling and why we recycle to celebrate recycling week! ♻️🌍

We had a tuff tray set up as a sticky spider web with rubbish stuck in the web. The children used there fine motor skills to use the tweezers to collect the rubbish from the web and place it into our recycling caddy! The children were using their pincer grip to squeeze the tweezers together to grab the rubbish. This will help the muscles in there hands which in time, will help develop writing. 🖋️ 🕸️

To extend the topic, we had a fun time using bigger pieces of recycling to do some junk modelling! This was so much fun and great for the children to use there imagination ideas! Using pencils, scissors and glue the children shared ideas together and worked as a team to help each other. They had great concentration and made some fantastic models from robots to boats and even a space rocket! How about giving it ago at home see what ideas they have. 🚀♻️⛵️

Welcome to our new family support area! 🧸

We’re so excited to introduce our new area in reception, created with our children and families in mind.

We wanted to create a space that offers a little extra support to our families, while also encouraging our children to develop a love of books and reading from an early age.

🪥 Free Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
We have a selection of children’s toothbrushes and toothpaste available for parents to take whatever they need. We hope this helps support healthy smiles and good oral health at home. 🦷

💷 Funding Support
We have helpful funding booklets and information available to support parents when applying for early education funding. We know applications can sometimes feel confusing, so we hope these resources make the process a little easier.

📚 The Carlton Library
Our very own Carlton Library is now open!
Children can choose a book to borrow and bring back, giving them the opportunity to enjoy stories at home and discover the joy of reading beyond the nursery.

We’re passionate about supporting not only our children, but our whole nursery community, and we hope this little area will be a useful and welcoming resource for all our families. 🍎🌈✨
