A message from DVSA ref test swaps:

We’re changing how learners can swap their driving tests
From 1 October, the process for how learner drivers can swap their driving test is changing.

The change will remove the need for learners to coordinate their availability and will make the process smoother and less stressful.

What's changing
To request a swap, the first learner driver will still need to call DVSA. The second learner will then need to call DVSA on the same working day to confirm they're happy with the swap.

We can only process the swap if both learners call DVSA on the same working day.

Previously, both learners needed to be available at the same time to make the swap.

Please make your pupils aware of this change

🚗 Well done Mia! 🎉

A lovely result for Mia today, passing her driving test in Lichfield! 🙌👏

Unfortunately I couldn’t be there with her today, so Mum stepped in. I’m genuinely gutted I couldn’t be there to enjoy the pass with her, but I’m absolutely chuffed to bits for you, Mia! 👏😁

A big well done, and thanks to Mum for all the extra help and support along the way.

Enjoy the freedom and stay safe! 🚗💨

🚗 A little look back over the last 12 months…

I received my latest DVSA ADI report this week, covering September 2025 – September 2026.

50 tests taken
38 passes 🎉
76% overall pass rate

But this post really isn’t about me — it’s about the 40 learners behind those numbers.

Every one of those 38 passes represents hours of lessons, extra practice, nerves, mistakes, improvements and plenty of hard work along the way.

So, although this is technically my ADI report, I see it as just as much your report as mine. 🙌

A massive thank you to every learner who has trusted me to help them learn to drive, and to all the parents, grandparents and family members who have put in the extra hours practising outside of lessons.

And to those still working towards that pass, keep going! 💪 Your hard work will pay off.

I’m incredibly grateful to every one of you for the effort you’ve put in over the last year.

Thank you. Stay safe and enjoy your driving! 🚗👍

🚗🎉 First time pass for Evie! 🎉

A fantastic drive from Evie today to pass her test first time in Buxton with a great result! 👏😊

Even more impressive as Buxton was an unfamiliar area for her, so she had to deal with roads and situations she wasn’t used to. She handled it brilliantly! 💪🚗

Thanks to Mum for all the extra practice and support along the way. 👍

Well done Evie, thoroughly deserved! 🎉👏 Enjoy the freedom! 🚘
