Looking for a creative weekend activity for your young artist? Join us every Saturday at Art in the Park in Markeaton Craft Village for a warm, inspiring art session!
Starting Saturday, 17th October, we are launching an exciting new theme that runs all the way through December: Famous Stories, Legends & Beloved Children’s Books! Each week, young artists will explore a variety of media—from soft pastels and pen & ink to rich watercolours—to bring classic tales to life while building technique and confidence.
Here is what we have coming up this October:
17th October – Hansel & Gretel: Young artists will dive into the fairytale woods using watercolours and soft pastels, learning to blend rich earthy tones with vibrant watercolour techniques to create an enchanting forest scene.
24th October – The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: Explore pen and ink techniques alongside dramatic watercolour washes to capture the moody, mysterious legend of the Headless Horseman!
31th October – The Goblin’s Supper: A fun, spooky Halloween special! Kids will use soft pastels and bold illustration techniques to cook up their own whimsical goblin feast.
Flexible Saturday Options: To fit your schedule, we offer 2 distinct group sessions to choose from every Saturday:
Group 1: Morning Session
Group 2: Afternoon Session
Designed for ages 7–16+, our classes include all materials, step-by-step guidance, and a supportive, relaxed atmosphere for every skill level.
