Art in the Park - Markeaton Derby

Are your kids ready to spread their creative wings? Tomorrow, we are diving into the beautiful world of wildlife watercolor painting, using this stunning Peregrine Falcon and chick illustration as our inspiration!

The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest animal on the planet, and tomorrow, our students will learn how to capture its power, texture, and expression on paper.

We have a gorgeous topic prepared for this Saturday's art class for children with 2 groups to choose from! These sessions are suitable for children between 7-16 years old! Bookings available via our website!

Here are the beautiful still life drawings drawn by our pupils during the last Saturday session! They are the perfect balance between the heavy ceramic vase and the delicate translucent flowers. We have availabe spaces every Saturday. If a session is fully booked, tou can add your name to the waiting list and you will be notified as soon as a space becomes available! These sessions are suitable for children between the age of 7-16!

This term, our young artists will embark on a colourful journey through time, exploring the incredible stories, landmarks, and inventions that put Derbyshire on the global map. From painting regal portraits inspired by the historic treasures of Hardwick Hall to creating high-contrast pop-art masterpieces of iconic Derby-built Rolls-Royce cars, every single week is an educational art adventure!

Discover Local History: They’ll learn fascinating historical facts about our beautiful county while they paint.

Master New Techniques: From fiery watercolour sunsets over Heage Windmill to linear perspective with steam trains, we’ll build real artistic skills.

We have a fantastic mixed media art lesson prepared for our 5 group this week! This humming bird in sketched in soft pastels on black card and painted using shimmery watercolours! A fantastic medium we work with, for fun, from time to time! Each class costs £34 when booked individually, spaces are available most days of the week. For all the watercolour fans out there, we offer a comprehensive watercolour technique workshop for any occasion. These lessons are ideal for learning a hands-on approach to watercolours and experiment the different techniques while painting real flowers.

This lesson is particularly suitable for beginners as patience is something that we all tend to lack, and having 4 images to paint on, at the same time, allowes you to leave one painting to one side, while working on another. This way we ensure layers can dry without any waiting time!

This gorgeous study of a Geisha in watercolours which has been tackled by our student 2 weeks ago, will be repeated tomorrow between 13:30 - 16:30. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who work or study during the week, to attend a weekend session.

Adults and teenagers can join together for only £34 per person. The groups are under 10 participants which means the atmosphere is relaxed and you get plenty of 1:1 advice. Bookings can be made online. A parking permit can be downloaded from the booking system as well!
