St Giles Spencer Academy is an inclusive special academy which is split across two sites; St Giles (Hampshire Road) and The Hive (Sir Frank Whittle Road) and provides a 'world class' education for our pupils. Our first site which is our main site, St Giles, caters for Early Years (Reception), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils and includes those with severe learning difficulties, profound medical needs and more complex sensory needs. Pupils may also have other associated needs including complex physical disabilities, health or care needs. Our second site is located less than a 5-minute drive from the main site; this is known as The Hive. This provision caters for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils who have moderate learning needs and other associated needs such as high-functioning ASD, speech & language, and Social, Emotional, Mental Health Needs (SEMH). On 01 November 2019, St Giles joined Spencer Academies Trust (SAT). This is a 'family' of 20+ mainstream primary and secondary academies. St Giles is the only special academy to be part of SAT currently. This is a unique and exciting partnership where ASPIRATION | PARTNERSHIP | RESPONSIBILITY underpin the work of all schools within SAT. Outside of SAT, St Giles Spencer Academy continues to work with many special and mainstream schools, both locally and nationally. St Giles Spencer Academy has an amazing team of staff; they are incredibly dedicated, nurturing and skilled to deliver the very best for our pupils. Our close-knit team strive to go the 'extra mile' by going above and beyond to support the pupils and families, ensuring that every pupil receives a personalised curriculum which inspires. Pupils are motivated to become the very best they can be both academically and socially. We are incredibly proud of all that they do and everything they achieve on their journey with us and beyond.
