This week we are reading Goodnight Veggies. It tells you all the names of vegetables we can grow in our garden and looks at how they grow, some on top of the ground and some under! The children painted their own veggies for our display and we even mixed our own colours to get the right shade!

We had a brilliant morning learning in the outdoors. Not only were we challenging ourselves physically by climbing and running, we explored nature finding mushrooms and conkers. An old branch made a brilliant see saw as we worked out how to rock it by working together. We spoke about the dangers of wild mushrooms and how they were very different to the supermarket ones!

This week we are learning all about healthy eating and this book introduces lots of different fruits as well as other cultures. Handa is taking a basket of fruit to her friend Akeyo but gets a surprise when she arrives as her fruits have all turned into Tangerines 🍊

📚Book of the week📚 Owl Babies by Martin Waddell and Patrick Benson

As we start a new academic year and welcome children old and new this comforting book helps children navigate their feelings. Sarah, Percy and Bill are missing mummy and want her back a feeling familiar to lots of children at this time of year. When Mummy returns the owls are overjoyed teaching our preschoolers it’s ok to miss people but they will always come back.

Here are just a few of the wonderful cards we've received from our children and parents. The gifts are lovely, but the kind words you've written and shared with us mean the world.

As we say goodbye to our 2026 school leavers, we make friendship bracelets using the elastic from our name cards—an activity to remind you that you'll always be part of our preschool. We hope you never forget us, because we certainly won't forget you.

Our last month of preschool is going to be all about children's interests! The children will be choosing our books of the weeks and this week they chose 'Can you see Sassoon?'
This book is about a snake called Sassoon who hides in colourful, busy backdrops and the children have to find him. The children created a colourful backdrop for our very own Sassoon to hide in! Can YOU see Sassoon?
