As the new term begins your child will settle into a new routine.
In the first two weeks they will be assessed against the objectives and targets for their year group.
The results from this will determine what help they will need in class and where the gaps in their learning are.

In tutoring this week I was chatting to a learner about going back to school.
We were using foam face stickers showing different emotions and he changed the faces to how he was feeling…..worried, angry and confused. ☹️🙂😠😵‍💫

What WE think a child may be worried about isn’t always what they ARE worried about.

I asked him to write what he felt about going back and he wrote ‘AAAAAAA’!!!!!!
Children can’t always understand their feelings, but they might say they have a tummy ache, start an argument or sit in silence.

A game I like to play when I’m bored or need to calm my anxiety is the Alphabet game.
Great to play at the airport or beach etc.
Find objects that begin with the letters of the alphabet….example below of some objects….I got stuck on ‘d’ though……🤔

I’ve been very busy lately alongside my personal tutoring and teaching Adults with Learning Disabilities and Difficulties at college.

I also now tutor students on the Level 1 NCFE CACHE Teaching Assistant course which is class based.

I’m in my third year of assessing NCFE CACHE Level 2 Teaching Assistants in schools so see first hand what is being taught in schools and what provision is in place for SEND pupils.

I enjoy all my roles very much although the Tutoring is my favourite. ❤️

I encourage the TAs to include as much practical activities and make lessons as much fun as enjoyable as possible as this how children learn best. 👍🏻
