How fantastic is this Santa’s sleigh made out of the big Lego!
This is so important! As apart of our curriculum goals, writing some letters of their name is the END goal with a path of playing and exploring leading up to it 💪
It’s a frosty morning at Busy Bees ❄️

Exploring colours...
At Busy Bees Preschool we encourage the children to play and explore, the children experimented with the cutters, crayons, chalk and paint to make pictures😁
On a rainy day the children helped make some pretend cakes for Ron the weather monster ☔
What did you have for breakfast?
In the morning the children were asked what they had for breakfast, we made a tally chart, then counted the dots to write the number.
From our chart, we found that the most popular breakfast on that day was toast and butter!
It was a great conversation starter 😁
SENSORY PLAY
Children loved playing with the biodegradable packaging in the water.
They learnt when it’s put into the water it dissolves and becomes slimy.
After listening to the children’s conversations they spoke how it resembled snow, through scaffolding their learning the staff introduced the artic animals from small world to create an arctic scene in the slimy water.
🤍
At Busy Bees Pre-School as part of our curriculum we encourage children to look at books, take part in pretend play and make up/ develop a story.
The children made their own puppets and were offered props to play imaginatively, using their voice and fantastic ideas to create their own story which is now featured in our book corner!
Fine motor control
Working on our pincer grip 💪
Where Kids Eat for FREE or £1 during October 2022 Half Term 👌
Can you guess which book has inspired one of our little artists… 🐛
Today we have put out some watering cans to collect the rain for our flowers 🌧
In the snack cafe, the children identified where their milk comes from.
We noticed that on the milk bottle there was a cow 🐄
We learnt that cows have udders and that's where the milk comes out (not the cow's bottom 😅)
The children are encouraged to self serve themselves practising their physical skills ready for the transition to school!
The children learnt about the earth, moon and sun during world space week!
We learnt that the colour blue on the earth is water, the sun rises in the morning then sets at night and to visit the moon you have to fly in a rocket.
We watched videos of rockets blasting off into space 🚀
After reading the Gruffalo in the book corner the staff extended the children's play with some story sack props!
Working as a team the children used their imagination to create their own woodland and acted out the story together 😁
As apart of our curriculum, the core experiences give children the opportunity to take part in planting and growing. This is a key part of children learning about where their food comes from, healthy eating and our physical development!
Hello Monday Morning!
Our children have been putting their balancing skills to the test, here is a snippet of some of our challenges 💪
Today the children had fun exploring mixing water with chalk 😁
This is a super fun and easy activity which simply washes away in the rain 🌧
I spy with my little eye… Something beginning with P!
One of our parents has donated this show stopping pumpkin 😁
Autumn is here and we can’t wait to explore all of the changes to come 🍂
Look at what we found on the garden! 🦋
Staff and children love to spot our little visitors by the window 💛
Following on from last Friday… World First Aid Day
The children at Busy Bees Pre-school explored the teams real first aid kit as well as playing with their own in the home corner. Lots of imagination was used as we took turns becoming doctors and nurses.
We watched videos about ambulances and Air ambulances, during circle time we spoke about a time when we had hurt ourself, we used the play phones to ring 999 for an ambulance and the children helped decorate two cards for the local doctors and the children’s hospital saying a massive THANKYOU for everyone’s hard work!
Today is World First Aid Day!
At Busy Bees Pre-School all of our staff are first aid trained.
World First Aid Day has been organised by the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
First Aid counts as any emergency treatment or medical assistance given to an injured or unwell person, before normal medical aid can arrive. When being life-saving, knowledge of basic First Aid is incredibly important.
Today is a day for talking about looking after ourselves, how to help others and people who help us 😁
Good morning! Today we are opening our doors for the autumn term.
We are so excited to see existing children and welcome the new children to our setting.
