Andrew Waddell

This is a slightly belated post but not one that I wanted to rush to write. Our very own Mr Andrew Waddell 1st Degree turned 18 at the beginning of the month - an important landmark in any young life. Andrew has been training with LCD Taekwon-do for over 11 years and has shown remarkable dedication rarely missing classes and attending all the extra training that he could. Andrew has turned out to be a fine young man, kind and funny are my favourite attributes of him. He is a talented rower, drummer and martial artist and clearly has the determination and mind set to achieve great things! He spent years doing a paper round which I think shows incredible backbone. I hope that he finds time to continue with his TKD training as he embarks on the next stage of his life at university. Andrew has competed successfully in martial arts since starting. In his teenage years, due to his height and weight, he found that at the age of 14 he was sometimes competing with 17 year old much more experienced opponents and not once did Andrew ever back out of any of these fights. He truly has the heart of a lion and is sportsmanship at its best. Thank you also to Callum and Jacqui for supporting Andrew's training throughout all these years. All the LCD instructors are proud to have taught Andrew and be part of the martial artist he now is. I hope you had a wonderful 18th birthday Andrew - All the very best for your future Master L McKenna
