We have been busy exploring space this month with a rockst trip in the garden🚀

🌍 Space hopper races

🌑 Alien underpants matching game

🪐 Created our own planets

🌚 Designed an alien

👽 Galaxy sensory bottles and moon sensory tray

This month we will be focusing on friendships and emotions in preparation for saying goodbye to some of our children starting school this year. It is always sad to say goodbye but we look forward to hearing how they all got on ❤️

🌷🐛🦋 SPRING 🦋🐛🌷

This month we have been focusing on spring, the children have been looking at the lifecycle of a caterpillar and learning all about the metamorphosis into a butterfly. We had the arrival of our caterpillars 🐛 we have watched them grow, they are currently inside their chrysalis and we are patiently waiting for them to emerge 🦋.

To prepare for the butterflies to come out we have done some planting in the garden to grow some lovely pollinator flowers to feed them.

We have been on many walks looking at all the flowers growing, we saw some horses 🐴 and tried spotting the tractors 🚜.

The children enjoyed playing in our new sensory tray which features lots of different bugs 🐜 🐞.

This month we have started to send out observations focusing on your children’s development, it’s been something we have been wanting to roll out for a while. If you have not received yours yet we are slowly getting through our list and you’ll receive one shortly.

January was a busy month yet again at Broncoed. The theme of the months was ‘Animals’.
We spent the time looking at all the different animals, where they live, what they eat .
The children were asked to bring in pictures of their pets, and and take parts in a show and tell. We had had some lovely photos, one parent did a fact file on their animal, with lots of wonderful information. Sadly some of the pets had passed away, we were sensitive to their feelings and a heart went out to them at this sad time.
The children made collage of their favourite animal, and everyone had their face painted as tigers, zebras, cows, to name a few.
Of course we had to throw in a dress up day. In honour of that lovable Winnie the Pooh to honour his national day. We made ears of their favourite character, honey cakes went down a treat as did the honey on their morning snacks.

As you say goodbye to 2023 and welcome in the new year. Georgia and I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.
Christmas came and went, we had a wonderful time leading up to it. As usual the children made all the festivities the best.
It is not us that makes Broncoed great it’s your wonderful children and the support of yourselves. Here’s 🥂to a brilliant 2024 🎉🥳
