Whatever the numbers on the page, today represents a huge amount of work, perseverance and progress. I hope you’re proud of what you’ve achieved.

Did you know that teasel is quasi carnivorous? It has leaves which form a moat like structure that trap and drown insects. However it is not a true carnivorous plant like the Venus fly trap which digests insects to provide protein building nitrates. It lacks any digestive enzymes to break down the insects bodies and ‘consume’ them. Plant Adaptations

The wonderful hummingbird hawk moth. A fine example of convergent evolution (Biology A level concept). This is the independent evolution of similar features in species of different lineage e.g. insects and birds.

Hearing from my students that yesterday’s GCSE Biology paper featured a heavy 6-marker on peat bogs and a Punnett square for Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

These are classic topics, but they can really trip students up under exam pressure. This is exactly why we practice application questions inside out in our sessions!
