🛟 This Saturday the 20th of June we will be holding our 'Flag Day' in Deal High Street from 9am until 2pm. Why not pop along and say hello to some of our volunteers.

🛟 The annual event of RNLI ‘Flag Day’ is a crucial event in helping to raise funds for supporting the operations of the RNLI. Every penny raised by the public has continued to show their support to aid with maintaining and operating lifeboats, and providing lifesaving services at sea.

Year 6 attended the East Kent Science Jamboree at Discovery Park, Sandwich where they were treated to a morning of exciting science activities. First they watched a show called 'Liquid Nitrogen' where they saw tennis balls smash, roses crack, washing up liquid grow and balloons disappear. They they took part in a number of experiments where they looked at optical illusions, rocket launching, bubble making and data programming. A fun morning was had by all.

School Age Childcare Survey

The need for childcare does not stop when children reach school-age, we know that families continue to need childcare before and after school, and during the school holidays. As a result, the Department for Education is taking a strategic approach to the future of School Aged Childcare (SAC) which builds on the successes of programmes such as the National Wraparound Childcare programme, the Holidays Activities and Food programme (HAF) and the national rollout of the Free Breakfast Club programme, to ensure families are supported, year-round, by an outstanding SAC system.

The Education People’s Early Years and Childcare Service is conducting a survey on behalf of Kent County Council, of parents and carers to determine their term time and holiday childcare requirement for children aged 0-14 and up to 18 for disabled children.

The information will help us assess if there are any gaps in provision and how best to meet the needs of all families. Please find below the link and QR Code. We would be very grateful if you could please complete by 17 July 2026
