1 hour lesson - £25
(GCSE and Kent Test)

1 hour lesson - £20
(Younger siblings of previous students)

1 hour group lesson - £10
(Kent Test preparation, maximum of 4 in a group)

I try to make tutoring as affordable as possible as I completely understand that all the clubs and expenses add up - I am always happy to accommodate shared lessons where possible, if friends or relatives of a similar level may want to learn together to keep costs down.

I have been teaching and tutoring since finishing my teacher training at Oxford University in 2003. In recent years I have tutored full time and have prepared well over 100 students for the Kent and Dover Tests and dozens of students for their GCSE or iGCSE exams.

Subjects I offer:

Kent/ Dover Test preparation (Year 5 students)

GCSE preparation - Maths

IGCSE preparation - Maths and English

Lessons take place in my home in Walmer and are generally term-time only, although there are usually revision or mock exam sessions running in the holidays for those who would like them.

Students are often joined by our resident animals - 2 small, very friendly dogs and 3 nonchalant cats!

I am currently fully booked for after school lessons until September 2027, but spaces for home-educated students during school hours are often available at an earlier date so please do get in touch.

I am also taking bookings for Kent Test Students from September 2027 if you would like your child to secure a place early 😊

Just to say a huge congratulations for everyone’s hard work this summer. Students have attended up to 10 mock test days as well as one-to-one lessons and extra study at home! You should be so proud of your hard work and determination and I am extremely proud of you all.
Good luck for tomorrow and Saturday, but keep in mind that you have already achieved so much and shown that you are incredibly hard working and able to learn so many new things.
Stay calm and guess and move on if you’re stuck - you will achieve great things whichever school you go to!

The summer is nearly here, which means Kent Test mock tests!
Please see the timetable below, you will also be given a hard copy in your lesson this week.
Tests are £10 per mock exam. Please book in advance as spaces are limited to the size of my dining room!

Hi, we are coming to the time of the year when I’ll be running practice mock tests for students sitting the Kent Test in September 2025.

The first one will be on Saturday 5th April, 9am to 10:30am, and is open to any of my Y5 students.

Please let me know if your child would like to attend. I will mark the test and return it with feedback in the student’s next lesson.
