Stacey Mead - Registered Childminder

Stacey Mead - Registered Childminder I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder. Hi, my name is Stacey and I am an Ofsted registered Childminder.

I live with my husband and our two daughters, Eva (aged 11) and Jessica (aged 9). We have two friendly dogs, tropical fish and a pond in the garden that we try and add tadpoles to every springtime. I became a childminder as I love working with children and helping them to develop and grow. They are inquisitive and love to explore everything around them and I will encourage this throughout their time with me. I am a home-away-from-home setting and provide a loving, caring and inclusive environment. I nurture all children, watch friendships blossom and help them to support and encourage each other. I feel they learn best when they are able to explore the environment around them, when they feel safe and when they feel calm, supported and loved. I thrive on them becoming excited in their own interests and new ones. All children become part of my family, a part of my 'home' and so they get all the benefits that that comes with too. We live very close to the local Primary School, the play park, the woods and the beach. We love being outdoors and will take every opportunity (weather permitting) to be outside. I do drive so we can visit other places further afield, for example castles, the zoo, soft play centres and play groups. I also often visit and meet up with other childminders in the local area. As per the current EYFS (and the changes to EYFS in September 2021) I have a range of resources and activities for children of all ages to play with and explore to help enhance learning and development. However, I am constantly changing my resources according to age and stage of development and the children's interests. I trained as an ICT Secondary School teacher and taught for 9 years. I setup the Rewards Scheme within that school and assisted colleagues and children on the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Year 10 camping trips, Norfolk Broads trips and various other outings. I left my teaching position after having our first daughter so that I could be a full-time Mum. When my daughter started at the local Pre-School I volunteered as a committee member and then worked there as a practitioner. We had our second daughter and again I wanted to spend time with her. I worked for a year in a local village Primary School as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a Reception class. My Qualifications:

When children get involved - the reality of a childminders day 🤣🤣…

SUMMER ☀️ We’ve had so much fun in this hot weather:

💦 Paddling pools and sprinkler pad out
✨ Water play with colours and sparkles
🎨 Big messy painting outside
🏰 Large sand pits
🥒 Watering fruits and veggies
📚 Reading stories
🎶 Lots and lots of singing and dancing
🦕 Cleaning dinosaurs
🍦 Ice-cream messy play with foam
⛺️ Many tents out and a gazebo up for shade
🐓 Stroking and caring for Charlotte’s chickens - thank you Dita, J-Lo, Taylor Swift, Dusty, Rainbow and Tiger for letting us pet and hold you 😄

All the while learning through play, having free movement, lots of transporting, using their imaginations, building on play and several activities planned - these can go either way but it’s all part of the fun 🤪

Yay Charlotte Jones-Registered Childminder we get to work even closer to each other now and your cabin is really amazing, it’s so cozy and homely already 🥰 and we are all loving the in/out independent access the children get to have. You’ve moved your entire family (including your dog and chickens) and continued to work through it all 👏🏼 🐓 🐕 🙌🏻

Update for Childminders in Kent -
***** Meningococcal Disease *****

You may have seen recent media reports regarding cases of invasive meningococcal disease in Kent. While these reports are understandably concerning, it is important to note that this infection does not spread easily and the overall risk to the wider community remains low unless individuals have had close contact with a confirmed case.

UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is closely monitoring the situation and working with local partners. At present there are no specific actions required for early years providers beyond remaining aware and following usual health guidance.

At present, no specific action is required for early years providers and children can continue to attend settings as normal unless advised otherwise by public health teams.

Latest official updates can be found here:

For general information about meningitis, including symptoms and when to seek medical advice, please see the NHS guidance:
