Here’s the latest updated information that as a childminder I have been sent from our local authority…

Update for Childminders in Kent -
***** Meningococcal Disease *****

You may have seen recent media reports regarding cases of invasive meningococcal disease in Kent. While these reports are understandably concerning, it is important to note that this infection does not spread easily and the overall risk to the wider community remains low unless individuals have had close contact with a confirmed case.

UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is closely monitoring the situation and working with local partners. At present there are no specific actions required for early years providers beyond remaining aware and following usual health guidance.

At present, no specific action is required for early years providers and children can continue to attend settings as normal unless advised otherwise by public health teams.

What a lovely summer term we have had so far, so many laughs and lots of tears at the end…

…Celebrating birthdays, doing lots of outings and activities, all the while learning through play and then children leaving for big school 😭

🍃 Lots of outings 🚗 Walmer Castle, Wildwood, Dover Castle, Kearsney Abbey, B&Q, Chilminders Houses etc.

🍃 Exploring in the wild 🌳 The woods, the beach, walks, fields, visiting the local piggies etc.

🍃 Chilling in my garden 😎 running, water play, digging, scooting, doing roly polys, checking on our frogs in our pond 🐸 etc.

🍃 Looking after plants and growing vegetables…🪴 tomatoes 🍅, cucumbers 🥒, peppers 🫑, courgettes, sunflowers 🌻 wild flowers 🌺 etc.

🍃 Listening to stories, free play, music, dancing, yoga, climbing, building, role-playing etc.

It has been an emotional rollercoaster for me this week with this little one leaving…

He has been with me since 11 months old and has now left to go to start school in September.
He has grown into such an amazing and fun little boy and it has been an incredible journey to have been a part of the first few years of his life. He is incredibly inquisitive, fun and has been a joy to have. He is such a big part of our family and we are all going to miss him dearly 😢

I know his amazing personality will shine through at school once he settles in and his teachers will know they have a little treasure in their classroom.

I know he will absolutely smash school and I am so very proud of him 🥰

His parents have been wonderful and supportive and I look forward to continuing our journey as his little brother comes to my setting 😘

She has grown into such an amazing and fun little girl and it has been an incredible journey to have been a part of the first few years of her life. She has the most amazing sense of humour, makes me laugh all the time and brightens up my day. She is such a big part of our family and we are all going to miss her dearly 😢

Her wonderful personality will shine through at school and I am sure she will be an absolute pleasure for her teachers.

I know she will absolutely smash school and I am so very proud of her 🥰

I will also miss working with her parents as they have been so supportive and wonderful too 😘
