Hello Everyone!
As we reach the end of another fantastic year, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all our pupils, families and staff for your support, kindness and hard work. It has been a busy year packed with achievements, memorable experiences and lots of reasons to smile.

This week, we were delighted to present the Joanna Besley Cup to Tiffany in recognition of her outstanding progress throughout the year. We celebrated with a small and special presentation attended by Tiffany's immediate family, teachers and her best friend. It was a lovely occasion and a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved through determination, perseverance and support. Congratulations, Tiffany – we are incredibly proud of you!

As our transition period comes to an end, we have been so impressed by how well pupils have embraced new classes, staff and routines. The last two weeks have given everyone a valuable opportunity to build confidence and familiarity ahead of September, and we know this will help make the start of the new school year even smoother.

You may have seen recent reports about new legislation relating to mobile phone use in schools, aimed at supporting learning, wellbeing and safety by reducing distractions during the school day. At Orchard Manor, we already have clear expectations around mobile phones and will continue to review our procedures to ensure they remain in line with national guidance. Full details of any changes will be shared with parents and carers via email shortly. We kindly ask that you read this information carefully. As always, we will work closely with our pupils to help them understand the changes and ensure the transition is positive, supportive and well managed.

A huge congratulations goes to 10MN, winners of this year's Orchard Manor in Bloom competition with their magical Cinderella Garden. The creativity, care and dedication shown by the class have been outstanding, and the finished garden was truly beautiful. Well done to everyone involved!

For our Year 11 students, GCSE Results Day will take place on Thursday 20th August, with results available to collect between 10:00am and 11:00am. If you are unable to collect your results in person, they will be posted out on the same day. We wish all of our students the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating your achievements.

Thank you also to everyone who supported our Distance to Buckingham Palace Fun Run/Walk. Thanks to your generosity, encouragement and sponsorship, we raised an amazing Β£529 for the school. Your support makes such a difference and is greatly appreciated.

As another school year comes to a close, we would like to thank you for being part of the Orchard Manor community. We hope you all enjoy a safe, restful and happy summer holiday, making lots of special memories with family and friends.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year ahead. Best wishes, Nicola Jones, Headteacher

πŸ₯•πŸŒ± Lilac Class have been busy in their garden patch all year! 🌱πŸ₯•

Before heading off for the summer holidays, the class harvested some of the vegetables they have been growing and nurturing throughout the year.

From planting seeds to watering, weeding and caring for their crops, the pupils have shown great patience, teamwork and dedication. It was wonderful to see their hard work rewarded with a successful harvest and plenty of proud smiles! 😊

Well done, Lilac Class – enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of your labour! 🌽πŸ₯•πŸ…πŸ’œ

πŸ«–πŸ› Woodland Learning Adventures! πŸŒΏπŸ“š

In our Woodland Learning lesson today, Purple Class enjoyed a story, a tea party activity, and some exploring time. The children practised pouring water and taking turns while hosting their woodland tea party. β˜•πŸ’œ

During exploring time, one of the children discovered a large caterpillar, which sparked everyone's curiosity! Together, we got out our identification books and used the index and chapter sections to investigate. After some excellent detective work, we successfully identified it as a Privet Hawk Moth caterpillar. πŸ”πŸ›

Amazing teamwork, curiosity, and learning from our nature detectives today! πŸŒΏπŸ‘
