This week we celebrate the woman behind Susan Rose China.

After studying Graphic Design at the Central School of Art and Design in London, Susan began her career as a self-employed designer. Her route into ceramics came later, when an opportunity to paint ceramic tiles led her to teach herself the craft.

Starting with a small kiln in her garage and English bone china from Stoke-on-Trent, Susan gradually built the business from the ground up — first hand-painting each piece before the business grew into what it is today.

A story that started with design, curiosity and a love of English china. 🤍

There’s been some rather exciting things going on in our Stoke-on-Trent workshop lately.
We’re lucky enough to work on some very special commissions for some much-loved British names, bringing our English china know-how, a bit of hand-finishing and plenty of care to every piece.

We can’t show you everything just yet… but here’s a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to. 💜

HAS YOUR SCHOOL RECEIVED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS SURPRISE? 🎁

Something rather special has just landed at a selection of schools across the UK.

We’ve created bespoke English Bone China Christmas baubles, designed especially for each school and featuring their own school building or, for our cathedral schools, their linked cathedral.

Handmade and hand decorated in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of the English Potteries, each complementary bauble captures the character and heritage of the school in a truly unique keepsake.

These are more than Christmas decorations. They’re designed to become timeless mementos, treasured by staff, pupils, parents and alumni for years to come.
