Monday 11th May

Congratulations to Ethan and Dillon, who both represented DSLV at the Joint Leicestershire & Rutland and Northamptonshire Schools Combined Events Championships last week.
Ethan delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in Northamptonshire, securing qualification for the Regional Octathlon—despite competing against students in the year group above.
Dillon also performed extremely well, recording several personal bests across the events.
A fantastic achievement from both students and a great representation of DSLV.

Primary: Today, our pupils proudly celebrated Earth Day 2026 by taking part in an inspiring live lesson focused on climate change and environmental responsibility. 🌍

Throughout the session, the children were challenged to think deeply about what it means to be a Climate Change Hero. Their activities included:

- creating meaningful lyrics to complete a climate change song 🎵
- sorting actions into higher and lower CO₂ impact categories
- generating thoughtful ideas to help reduce the effects of greenhouse gases on our world

The pupils also learned about inspiring pledges made by well-known figures and organisations, including Coldplay’s commitment to planting a tree for every concert ticket sold.

Back in class, the children continued their learning by writing their own Earth Day Pledges and designing eye-catching posters to encourage others to take action and help tackle climate change.

It has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm, creativity, and awareness from our young learners as they explore how even small actions can make a big difference for our planet. 🌱

Free Entry- Donations are gratefully received on the evening and suggested donation would be £1. All funds raised will be given to Year 11 Prom fund.

Ticket reservations must be made via Eventbrite. Entry will not be allowed if tickets have not been reserved. Please reserve your tickets using this link:-

DSLV’s 2026 ski trip to Canada has come to a close, and what an unforgettable journey it’s been. From incredible memories and new skills on the slopes to exploring one of the world’s most stunning landscapes — and sharing plenty of laughter along the way — this trip truly had it all.

We are immensely proud of how our students conducted themselves over the past eight days, representing DSLV with confidence, positivity, and spirit throughout.

Now we look ahead with excitement… Europe 2027, we’ll see you soon! 🇨🇦⛷️
