A huge congratulations to our attendance-winning class, who had a fantastic time visiting Stablemates! 🐴💚

The children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the experience, from meeting the horses to taking part in the activities. It was a wonderful reward for their excellent attendance and positive attitude.

⚽🎉 ProStrike Football Event - Monday! 🎉⚽

Following a number of recent thefts from the local Co-op, the police led a whole-school assembly this morning to talk to the children about theft, the consequences of stealing, and the impact it has on individuals, businesses, and the wider community.

This assembly built on the learning from the Blue Butterfly workshops that the children have participated in recently reinforcing the importance of making positive choices, taking responsibility for their actions, and understanding the consequences of their behaviour.

This time last week we were celebrating father's day with a game of rounders on the field.

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the day, and to the family members who came along to take part.

It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying themselves and creating special memories together.

In light of recent news surrounding the proposed social media ban for children, we wanted to highlight our Year 6 pupils at their very finest in personal development.

While much of the conversation focuses on the impact of screens and social media on young people, OPAL provides a wonderful reminder of the incredible benefits of real-world play, interaction and collaboration.

Through outdoor play opportunities inspired by our OPAL approach, our Year 6 children demonstrated resilience, teamwork, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills in abundance. They negotiated rules, resolved disagreements, supported one another, took risks, adapted their ideas and showed genuine leadership—all without a screen in sight.

These moments remind us that play is far more than just fun. It is how children develop confidence, independence, emotional intelligence and the social skills they need to thrive.

The equipment was simple—crates, tyres, ropes and loose parts—but the learning was extraordinary. Children’s imaginations transformed everyday objects into opportunities for adventure, cooperation and growth.

As discussions continue about protecting children online, let’s also celebrate and prioritise the experiences that help them flourish offline. Every child deserves the time, space and freedom to play.

A special thank you also goes to Mrs Woodward for her passion, commitment and leadership in driving our OPAL journey forward.
