I’m sorry that I’ve not posted in a while or haven’t organised a group.
We have been focusing quite a bit on finding our own family rhythm & I haven’t yet found my footing with organising another session.

I’m hoping this might change in the next few months & will certainly be in touch if this is the case.

But for now, I just wanted to congratulate all the children who worked so hard on their environmental projects - working towards their ‘Green’ Blue Peter badge.

Join us this Friday for some Olympics fun. We will be having pizza & perhaps a bit of cake too.
Please note a slightly earlier start time of 1.30 this week, we will also be meeting on the green (by the park), be sure to bring along a drink as it looks to be warm ☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday in learning about the history of chocolate…I loved seeing your chocolate creations & the light up wands you finished were incredible.

It was even nice enough for a lovely paddle in the stream afterwards 💚

Join us in May as we take a look at the history of chocolate and explore the work of Claude Monet.

Activities will be available for smaller ones as well as biscuits & hot drinks for adults.

Thank you for a great session yesterday (& to everyone for helping clean up the non Newtonian fluid afterwards 🫣 - it was much appreciated).

We looked at our taste buds and how we might ‘trick’ them, or our olfactory senses, into thinking one thing is another. In this case, peas and apples as strawberries 🍓. Similar to how natural and artificial flavours may be used to enhance or replicate the flavour of a particular food.

We also decorated wands and made simple circuits in preparation for lighting them up next session.

Using our breath we changed the colour of an indicator liquid from blue to purple/pink. This encouraged further discussion around increasing levels of Co2 in our atmosphere affecting the acidity of the ocean - to tie in with a rather messy Earth themed tuff tray 🌎

B has been hard at work preparing for tomorrow’s ‘magic’ session.

We will be making simple circuits to light up our wands, using our breath to change the colour of a solution and create a strawberry fragrance from peas and apples 🤯

There will be a messy tray for the littles, so please bear this in mind when choosing your outfits 😜 - see you then ☺️
