A fantastic start to the new academic year for our new Year 12 students!

Today’s Year 12 Transition Day was all about getting to know each other, building confidence and starting to form the friendships and connections that make Sixth Form such a special experience.

There was plenty of laughter and healthy competition with team building activities, alongside identity art, time capsules and lots of opportunities to mix, chat and get to know new people.

It was lovely to see our new Year 12s settling in, forming bonds and already starting to become part of our vibrant Sixth Form community. We are really excited to see what the next two years bring for them.

We still have a limited number of places available for September, so if you are still considering your Sixth Form options and think Churchmead could be the right place for you, we would love to hear from you.

Your future. Our focus.

Churchmead School is today celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results from a dedicated and hardworking group of students. The school maintains very good results in English and maths, with many outstanding grades in both subjects. A continuing upward trajectory in key subjects, including science, paints a very encouraging picture as results show a significant improvement on previous years.  Churchmead School takes exceptional pride in the artistic talents of their students, which shone through particularly in the Art, Photography and Drama results. Vocational subjects including Enterprise, Hospitality and Catering and Music have produced some exceptional outcomes, showcasing some of the very talented young people in the cohort.
Special mention must be given to some of the highest achievers this year, including Clayton du Plooy, Nehemy Bentil, Sienna Webb, Bethany Issit and Aleena Ahmed on achieving over 10 grade 7’s each in their exams.
Commenting on the results Chris Tomes, Headteacher at Churchmead School said “We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by our students in this exam season. They have shown determination and perseverance and always remained 100% committed to achieving their best in their GCSE’s. I wish them well as they continue into their studies, apprenticeships and other destinations. We look forward to welcoming returning students and new students into our 6th Form in September.”

A member of the Student Leadership Team, Joshua Allen, said upon receiving his results “I am delighted with my results and I would like to thank Churchmead School for being such a fantastic school in supporting me in my studies.”
Congratulations Year 11!

What a way to end an unforgettable journey.

Before beginning the long journey home, our Sixth Form students and staff enjoyed one final Kenyan experience with a visit to the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi.

They have now arrived home safely after what has truly been a life-changing trip. From volunteering at Jubilee School and unforgettable safaris to experiencing Kenya’s incredible culture, wildlife and communities, this has been a journey filled with memories, friendships and experiences that will stay with them forever.

Thank you to everyone who made this incredible adventure possible.

Asante sana, Kenya. Kwaheri! 🇰🇪❤️

Yesterday marked the final day of volunteering at Jubilee School for our Sixth Form students and staff.

It was a fitting end to an unforgettable week, as everyone came together to prepare a celebratory meal and organise a party for the children. There was music, dancing, laughter and so many smiles, making it a truly special way to celebrate everything they had shared together.

Saying goodbye was incredibly emotional. The friendships formed, the memories made and the impact this experience has had on everyone involved will stay with our students and staff for years to come. Thank you, Jubilee School, for such a warm welcome and for allowing us to be part of your community.

Today, the group begins the journey home, with one final stop at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi before heading to the airport. What an unforgettable adventure it has been. 🇰🇪❤️
