Following on from their work experience placements, some of our Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Herbert Parkinson for a tour of their factory.

During the visit, students gained a valuable insight into the world of manufacturing, seeing first-hand how the factory operates and learning about the wide range of roles involved in the business. They also discovered how made-to-measure custom fabrics, curtains and blinds are designed and produced to meet individual customer requirements.

Eight Year 9 girls attended the 'This Girl Can' event at Roefield Leisure Centre. Alongside students from schools across the North West, they took part in a variety of exciting activities including UV Benchball, a movie-themed treasure hunt and beach games.

The girls represented DACA brilliantly throughout the day, demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork and a positive attitude. They were a real credit to the school and embraced every opportunity to get involved.

๐Ÿ‘ It was a fantastic event that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.

As our Year 10 work experience comes to an end, we would like to say a huge thank you to the 5 students who have been supporting the Behaviour Team alongside Mrs Starkie.

Mrs Starkie said:
โ€œEach student has been professional at all times. They have supported the Academy brilliantly, showing how to support students at all levels.โ€

To celebrate the end of a successful week, the students also enjoyed a pizza lunch together ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜

Well done to all involved for representing the Academy so positively throughout the week. ๐Ÿ‘

This week we welcomed The Riot Act into school ๐Ÿš—

Their theatre in education show focused on road safety, helping to inform, engage and educate our pupils in a fun and memorable way.

The earlier we can engage children on the importance of staying safe around roads, the better! ๐Ÿ‘
