Darwen Aldridge Community Academy Darwen Aldridge Community Academy. Part of Aldridge Education. The Academy opened on 1 September 2008.

It
is an independent, non fee-paying school jointly funded by our sponsor, The Aldridge Foundation, and the Department for Education. We were the first Aldridge Academy in what is now a national family of academies. The main aim of the Academy is to provide the highest quality of education for students in the main school from Year 7 to Year 11 and in the new Sixth Form. In our first five years, we

have seen year-on- year improvements in levels of student attainment and have been recognised by the DfE as one of the most improved schools in the country.
