🌱 Growing Together 🌱
🍅Our Owls children have been busy getting their green fingers working!
🥕🍓🌻 We have been planting a variety of fruits, vegetables, and beautiful sunflowers, learning how tiny seeds can grow into something we can enjoy and care for.
The children have been developing their understanding of:
🌱 How plants grow and what they need to survive
💧 The importance of watering and caring for plants
🌻 Observing changes and watching our plants grow over time
🥕 Learning where some of our food comes from
🤲 Developing responsibility by caring for living things
🔎 Encouraging curiosity, exploration, and a love of nature
🌍 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
♻️ SDG 2 – Zero Hunger: Learning about growing our own food and where fruits and vegetables come from.
🌱 SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Exploring the benefits of growing food and using resources responsibly.
🌎 SDG 13 – Climate Action: Developing an early understanding of how growing plants can help care for our environment.
🐝 SDG 15 – Life on Land: Encouraging children to care for plants, nature, and the wildlife that depends on them.
We can’t wait to watch our little seeds grow into something amazing! 🌱➡️🌻💚

🌿🚶♀️ Walk at the Weekend! 🚶♂️🌿
We are excited to introduce our Walk at the Weekend Scheme! 💚
We would like to encourage our nursery families to get outside, enjoy some fresh air, and explore the world around them together. 🌳🐞🌼
Walking is a wonderful way to support children’s physical health, wellbeing and curiosity, while also spending quality time as a family. It is also a simple way to help protect our planet by choosing to walk instead of drive whenever possible, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. 🌍💚
👣 This Weekend, Why Not…
🌳 Explore your local park or woodland area.
🐦 Look out for birds, insects, and other wildlife.
👟 Enjoy a family walk and see what exciting things you can discover.
🚮 Help care for your community by collecting litter and safely putting it in the bin.
📸 We would love to hear about your outdoor adventures! Please share your photos and experiences with us.
🤩There is a prize and a sticker chart for the winner! 🌎✨
Every little step makes a difference and helps us towards the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). 👣💚

* 🌱 SDG 13: Climate Action

🦁 World Lion Day 🦁
🐖 Today in piglets we have been celebrating world lion day.
🧑🎨 The children have enjoyed painting their own lions using cotton buds to enhance their fine motor skills.
🦁 We discussed some facts about lions for the children to gain further knowledge on the animal.
😴 For example, we learnt that lions can sleep for up to 20 hours a day and that a family of lions is called a pride.
🗣️ Goldilocks words:
- Lion
- Pride
- Mane
- Lioness
- Cub

🦁 World Lion Day 🦁
🦁 Today, we celebrated World Lion Day!
🐾This important day falls on August 10th annually and raises global awareness for lion conservation and recognises these magnificent big cats and the urgent need to protect them from extinction.
🐰 🐥 Bunnies and Ducklings engaged in a range of activities to honour this day.
🗣️ We listened to lion sounds and then attempted to create them ourselves.
🦁 Using props of lions, we looked closely at their colours and patterns. We also added materials that linked to what a lions fur might feel like.
📖 Our book of the week named ‘Please’, aided us in attempting to sign and learn the importance of using our manners.
🎶 We sang familiar songs such as ‘Down in the Jungle’, which helped towards enhancing our early communication and language skills.

⭐️ WOW Moment ⭐️
A massive well done to our very own Sustainability Champion, who has now successfully completed her Advanced Certificate in Environmental Sustainability in Early Years Environments. 🌍👏
She has already put so much of her learning into practice within our setting, helping us to make positive changes and strengthen our commitment to protecting our planet. 💚
🌱 Compost bins in every room, with the compost then being used to fertilise our home-grown plants.
🥕 Growing a variety of fruits and vegetables and using our produce in baking activities with the children.
🌍 Supporting children to learn about sustainability and the small changes we can all make to help protect our planet, including exploring the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
♻️ Recycling bins in our Forest School, giving children the opportunity to make little changes that can have a big impact.
We are so proud of everything you have achieved and the positive impact you are already making within our setting. 💚🌎✨

🌳 Inclusion at Bexley Park 🌳
Inclusion is embedded in all that we do at Enchanted Wood Preschool Bexley Park. We recognise children’s differences and adjust the environment and provide support so every child can access learning in a way that works for them.
👫 During our every day practice, we ensure that every child feels valued, respected and able to participate fully, regardless of their abilities, background, language, culture, gender, religion or additional needs. We achieve this by:
✨Adapting activities so all children can participate.
✨Using resources that reflect diverse cultures, families and abilities.
✨Working closely with parents and other professionals.
✨Providing additional support where needed.
✨Creating an environment where every child feels welcomed and valued.
ℹ️ Early identification of additional needs is key in ensuring that the children in our care receive the support that they require and deserve. This is accomplished by providing:
✨ A high level of staff training. We have a member of staff in each room who is a qualified Level 3 SENCo and we are currently preparing to roll out the level 3 and 4 SENCo qualifications within our in-house training academy for more of our team to benefit from.
✨ A dedicated intervention team who carry out tailored activities with children who would benefit from additional support.
✨ We also use a Speech and Language screening tool called WellComm, which indicates a child’s current level of speech and language and then enables us to provide a range of activities to help support them if needed.
💻 Please see the below link to our website, which provides information on all areas of Inclusion within our setting:
