Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough!

Today we celebrated his very special birthday at one of our favourite spaces. The children loved looking out for birds in the bird hide area, stopping to listen to the river, wind moving through the leaves and all the bird song around us. We then moved along the river to feed some of the birds before doing some colouring, enjoying animal themed books and playing with jungle animals in the grass and lawn flowers.

We love taking our learning outside, exploring our natural world and learning how to care and respect it. 🌍

A magical end to the Easter holidays. My little princesses requested a castle visit so fairy godmother mode was activated. 💫 Full princess dress was encouraged and a little cake treat to finish off a wonderful day. It was filled with fun and imagination, inspiring joy, awe and wonder for the world around us. We wandered the around the castle, danced in the gardens, cast spells, looked for dragons and spotted the local wildlife, flora and flauna.

Happy Mother’s Day! 💕

The little ones made some beautiful gifts. Adult led for my tiny ones , more creativity from my little one and lots of choice by my bigger ones all depending on their individual capabilities.

My bigger ones did so well building and expanding on different skills by working out how to decorate their pots with stickers, navigating peeling backs off of the stickers, managing the chosen placement and movement of the pot, they asked questions about the floral foam inside the pot, discussed the shapes of the artificial leaves, practiced lots of fine motor skills, coordination and problem solving. We spoke about the spring flowers we have spotted on our outings then they chose and painted their own hands in the colours they liked best to make the flowers and create some beautiful displays.

We’ve had a great Jan and Feb. Here is a little collection of photos of what we’ve been up to!
We’ve enjoyed soft plays, play centres, parks, been creative both indoors and outdoors, playgroups and socialising with our friends.

Some of our Christmas activities in action!!!

Our annual Christmas trip to the garden center to look at all the amazing decorations and lights and enjoy a babyccino. We spotted so many different themes, eye-spyed our favourite animals and characters and felt lots of textures. The little ones enjoyed puff pastry Christmas trees as well as sharing toys and stories together.

Christmas at Knole. 🦌

I’ve had a lovely day out with my two littlest ones exploring the park, looking at the Christmas trail, spotting deer and having lunch with a view. We got nice and muddy and I forgot my wheel cleaner at home, but nature came to help get most of it off instead. Said stick is now staying in the car for emergency mud removal.

🎄🎄🎄Our little set up for the day🎄🎄🎄

Writing and posting letters and lists to Santa hoping we’ll be on the nice list. Being Elves and helping at the North Pole to get presents ready. Then delivering the presents by train to Father Christmas to load onto to his sleigh. ✨🎅🏻🎁🚂✨

Lots of opportunities for number, shape and letter recognition, counting, sorting, hand-eye coordination, gross and fine motor skills, impromptu music making and singing and most of all… FUN!
