🫟THIS WEEK🫟
This week Gemma has been teaching the children about comparing quantities by creating a digger and farm animal tuff tray for the children to explore and learn new vocabulary and comparing quantities and size. Gemma filled the tuff tray with sand, soil, weetabix for hay bails, diggers, trains, tracks, farm animals, numbers and building bricks 🐄
Ashley has been teaching the children about road safety. Ashley created a road safety tuff tray using the road mat, painted peg dolls, road signs, toy cars, car cable reel, car ramp and guttering. The children have been learning ‘stop, look & listen’ before crossing the road. When we go out for our walks, we practice how to cross the road safety and sensibly. We also talk to the children about different vehicles we will see in the roads, zebra crossings, the red & green man and looking both ways 🚗
Amanda has been teaching the children about the importance of good oral hygiene by setting up a dentist tuff tray, providing the children with teeth models, laminated teeth, toothbrushes, toothpaste box, magnifying glasses, dentist tools and laminated food cards. Amanda discussed the importance of brushing our teeth twice a day, how to look after our teeth and making healthy choices for our teeth 🦷
Kelly has been teaching the children to develop their pretend play by setting up a tea party role play area. Kelly set up a table with pretend treats and pastries, a tuff tray with a tea set, warm water, flavoured tea bags, tea pots, strainers, ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ book. The children have enjoyed making cups of tea for each other and the teachers and enjoying yummy (pretend)treats whilst exploring different roles from the book🫖
Kaylie has been teaching the children how to use scissors correctly and safely by setting up an autumn cutting and sticking activity. Kaylie provided the children with printed autumn cutting sheets, scissors, glue pots and spatulas. The children were able to cut out different autumn pictures and glue them to their tree to create their own autumnal collage 🍁

🫟THIS WEEK🫟
Thank you for joining us for our MacMillan coffee morning on Tuesday. We appreciate all money donated. Across both preschools we raised £67.50 for MacMillan Cancer Support! 👏🏼💚
This week Ashley has been teaching the children to explore different textures using their senses by setting up a Gruffalo sensory food task tuff tray. Ashley provided the children with bowls, spoons, oats, pasta, oat milk, bananas and ground cinnamon. Ashley has been reading the story book ‘The Gruffalo’ to help children develop their language. The children loved making their own Gruffalo food whilst using fine motor skills and counting skills 🥄
Kaylie has been teaching the children about sharing space, resources and ideas in play. Kaylie created an autumn fairy garden tray for the children to explore, small world play and sharing resources. Kaylie provided the children with orange rice, pretend leaves & ivy, acorns, pine cones, logs, wooden paused mushrooms, wooden fairy & animal peg dolls, bowl, scoops and numbers 🧚🏻
Amanda has been teaching the children about colour mixing by setting up a cotton pad flower tuff tray using cotton wool pads, colours water and pipettes. The children have been strengthening their fine motor skills by using the pipettes. The enjoyed filling them up and squeezing the coloured water out to stain the cotton wool pads 🌸
Gemma has been teaching the children about different occupations and how to develop their imaginary play. Gemma set up a school role play area using tables & chairs, the big white board, white board pens, name cards, the weather board, pencils, paper, carpet, cushions & books. The children enjoyed being in charge for the day and reenacting our daily routines and playing different roles 🧑🏽‍🏫
Kelly has been teaching the children to explore and talk about their emotions by setting up a ‘Funny Leaf Faces’ craft using leaves, sticks, googly eyes, glue & pens. The children were able to talk about their own emotions and express their emotions through their craft to show us how they were feeling 🍃

🏴‍☠️THIS WEEK🏴‍☠️
This week we celebrated ‘Talk Like a Pirate’ where teachers set up a range of different pirate activities!
Ashley has been teaching the children to develop their imaginative play and communication. Ashley created a fantastic pirate role play area using a sea mat, a plank, yellow paper (sand) area, treasure maps, posters, trinkets, treasure, eye patches, hats and much more! The children enjoyed pretending to be pirates, walking the plank and finding all the hidden treasure! 🏴‍☠️
Amanda has been children to use their creativity to create their own pirate hats! Amanda provided the children with card board cut of pirate hat shapes, glue, feathers, sequins and Pom Pom’s. The children enjoyed taking their creations to the role play area and learning some fun pirate phrases 🏴‍☠️
Gemma has been teaching the children how to count to ten using a pirate themed tuff tray using blue rice, a pirate boat, pirate characters, gems and coins 🏴‍☠️
Kaylie has been teaching the children about problem solving and patience when trying to retrieve treasure from ice blocks. Kaylie froze gems and coins into blue ice and provided the children with wooden hammers, tweezers and a salt shaker. The children could explore different ways to get the gems and coins out of the ice and talk about the changes that can happen when ice turns into water 💎
Kelly has been teaching the children numbers and counting when finding pirate treasure. Kelly poured sand into a tuff tray and buried coins and gems and challenged the children to find them and count how many they have found. Kelly added spades and paintbrushes to dig and brush off the sand 💎
Dougie went home with a child who has settled into preschool amazingly and is growing in confidence every day. Well done 👏🏼 🐶

🫟THIS WEEK🫟
Welcome back to preschool! We have had a fantastic first full week back, learning, exploring and having fun!
This week Kaylie has been teaching the children about kindness, sharing and being a good friend. Kaylie set up a ‘Rainbow Fish’ craft so the children could create this own rainbow fish. They used a fish template, paint and celery to stamp the scales. Kaylie will also read the ‘Rainbow Fish’ book along side her activity 🐟
Amanda has been teaching the children about different occupations by creating a hairdressers role play area, providing the children with hairdressing resources such as hairbrushes, rollers, hairdryers, straighteners, mirrors, towels, aprons, chairs and a reception area, with phones, till, money and appointment cards 💇🏼‍♀️
Gemma has been teaching the children about different emotions and how to manage them. Gemma provided the children with playdough, laminated face mats, playdough tools, emotion cards and stones. Gemma encouraged the children to think about how they are feeling and how to show that in their creation and teach them strategies they can use when they are feeling sad, angry or frustrated 💜
Ashley has been teaching the children to use the words; more, less and some by setting up a colouring sorting tuff tray. Ashley provided the children with coloured bowls and coloured objects to sort into their colours. Ashley added musical instruments, wooden numbers and nursery rhythm cards to encourage the children to sing counting songs 🎶
Kelly has been teaching the children to explore cause and effect of playing with water, by setting up a water tray with guttering going down into a tuff tray. Kelly provided the children with pool noodle boats, jugs and spray bottles. The children enjoyed learning about sinking, floating and emptying and sharing the resources and taking turns 💦
Our 2 stars of the week demonstrated brilliant Makaton signing and helped others to learn the correct signs. Well done ⭐️👏🏼
Dougie went home today with someone who has done amazingly well coming back to preschool and settling in without his big sister. Well done 🐶👏🏼

🍎📚WELCOME BACK TO PRESCHOOL! 📚🍎
Doors open at 9am tomorrow! We can’t wait to see you all!
A few polite reminders
- Please clearly label ALL clothes, coats, bags, wellies, puddle suits, drink bottles and lunch boxes.
- Pack 2 complete changes of clothes (including socks and underwear), nappies and wipes (if needed).
- Please remember to bring children’s puddle suits and wellies in this week, as the weather changes, your children will need these. They will remain at preschool.
- We are a nut free and egg free preschool; this includes peanut butter, Nutella, scotch eggs & hard boiled eggs etc, any questions about this, please contact us.
- Please make sure your Baby’s Days actions have been completed ready for the new school year.

🎓PRESCHOOL GRADUATION🎓
Thank you all for joining us for your children’s preschool graduation. It’s been a pleasure having your children with us and getting to know you all throughout the years. It has been an amazing year and we have seen the children grow and learn so much from their time with us. We know the children are ready for their new big adventure at big school, but it doesn’t make the goodbyes any easier. We are thankful for you all, for allowing us to spend these precious years with your children and thank you for choosing us.
Thank you for the kind and generous gifts and kind words shared, for the amazing cake and for one last morning with your children.
Thank you for staff for preparing their speech’s for the children to read out to them, it shows you know your key children so well and it was lovely hearing all the memories, funny moments and experiences shared. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to all children at Twinkletoes, it truly shows just how much every child means to us.

💜END OF YEAR💜
Firstly, we would like to start of by saying how proud we are of all the children and what they have achieved this year. Every single child has made a huge difference and hold a special place in all our hearts. Some children will be back in September but some of our children are leaving for their next new big adventure at big school. It is always hard to say goodbye, but we know they will have the best time and thrive in their new schools. We will miss them all so much!!
Thank you to all the parents for choosing us for the start of your children’s school life, we are so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your kind and generous gifts, cards and words at the door, it means the world to us that we have made a positive impact on your children’s journey and the memories made. A lot of our parents have been with us for quite a few years, where we have had your other children also attended Twinkletoes before they went to big school in previous years. It has been wonderful getting to know you all and we will miss you all!
And lastly, thank you to all the teachers who have worked so hard to provide education, support and care for every child we have with us. We have loved every minute spending time with the children, creating memories, a lot of laughter and a positive environment for all.
We welcome all of our school leavers to our graduation on Monday 20th July for one last final goodbye 🎓
For children attending Twinkletoes in September, we look forward to seeing you when our doors open on Thursday 3rd September 💜

🫟THIS WEEK🫟
On Tuesday we had our sports morning which the children participated in 6 different activities including the corn hole, balancing beams with bean bags, an obstacle course, egg and spoon race, hoop the cone, our up and over course and of course, the parent race, the flip flop race and the children’s race. The children done so well and we are so proud of them for making this sports morning so fantastic. Thank you for all the parents, carers, grandparents, siblings and all family and friends for joining us. We hope you all had a great time as we all did 👏🏼 (see separate post)🏅
This week is our Teddy bear picnic week where the children could bring in their favourite cuddly friend to join us all week. We set up a ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ role play area for the children to create their own stories with their teddies and reenact parts of the story book. On Friday we all had a picnic inside with our teddies at lunchtime, it was great fun to have our cuddly friends join us 🧸

Next week is our last week of preschool! Coffee morning is on TUESDAY 14TH JULY. End of term is THURSDAY 16TH JULY. For school leavers, our graduation is MONDAY 20TH JULY. For children who are joining us back in September, we return on THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER.

🫟THIS WEEK🫟
This week Kaylie has been teaching the children about the importance of being polite, kind and sharing. Kaylie set up a ‘Tiger who came to tea’ tuff tray using a black tray, orange rice, cups, saucers, wooden food, spoons, painted peg dolls and a tiger. Kaylie read the story to the children and discussed kindness, and encouraged sharing and taking turns with others. The children also used the pictures to read the story at carpet time to their friends in their own words 🐯
Gemma has been teaching the children about different occupations and imaginative role play by setting up a hairdressers role play area. Gemma set out chairs, tint bowls and brushes, hair straighteners, hair dryers, rollers, hair brushes, mirrors and a reception area where the children could make appointments, pay and answer the phone to customers 💇🏽‍♀️
Ashley has been teaching the children about the story ‘The Bog Baby’, teaching the children the need to care for a respect all living things and our environment. Ashley set up a tuff tray using chia seeds, water, grass mat, Bog Baby painted stones, pretend frogs, a house and painted peg dolls. The children enjoyed sensory play whilst learning how to take care of our world 🌍
Amanda has been teaching the children about different ways we can be kind and caring to others and different ways we can help our friends. Amanda set up a ‘friendship potion’ tuff tray based on the story ‘the rainbow fish’. She used coloured water, glitter, sequins, pom-poms, spoons, ladles, pipettes, jars and dishes. The children enjoyed creating potions and talking about what kindness magic they were sprinkling into it and how it would make other people feel whilst turn taking and sharing with each other 🥰
We had a birthday this week! As always we held a special birthday carpet time where we find out what presents they received, what cake they had and what they done for their special day and anything else they would like to share. We then sang happy birthday and gave him 3 big claps! Happy birthday! 🥳
Dougie went home this week with a child who has settled into preschool so well and has been so kind to others and helpful to everyone. Well done 👏🏼 🐶
