We are so looking forward to seeing all of our Year 11 students tomorrow as they collect their GCSE results.

First and foremost, we want to say how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of you. We hope your journey at Hurworth has been everything you hoped it would be and that you leave with many happy memories and achievements to celebrate.

Good luck for tomorrow. You have all worked incredibly hard, shown resilience and determination, and should be proud of everything you have accomplished.

School will be open from 9.30 a.m. for you to collect your results.

👕 Uniform Collection Today 👕

Uniform is available to collect from school today (Wednesday) between 10:00am and 12:00 noon.

🚧 Due to ongoing building work (which we're very excited for you to see in September and throughout the coming months!), please collect uniform from the Dining Hall entrance.

🚗 Please note that parking is limited to the front of the school only. There will be no access to parking at the side or rear of the school.

Today we held our Stepping Up Assemblies, including our Key Stage 3 Graduation, celebrating the achievements, memories and milestones of the past year. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the start of our Hurworth journey and recognise the hard work and success of our students through awards and special moments.

Congratulations to all of our students on successfully completing another academic year with us. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved.

Now there's just one day to go! We look forward to rounding off another successful year tomorrow with our Hurworth Festival – a fantastic way to celebrate together before the summer break.

🌟 Meet the Staff 🌟

We’re delighted to be welcoming some fantastic new members of staff to Hurworth School this September!

👋 Mr Bone joins us as Director of Maths, bringing 17 years of teaching experience and a passion for inspiring students both in and out of the classroom.

📚 Mrs Cadwallender joins us as Director of English, with a dedication to fostering a love of reading, writing and helping every student achieve their full potential.

Please join us in giving them both a very warm Hurworth welcome! 👏🧡

Our recent visit to the Euro Space Center in Belgium saw more than 50 students immerse themselves in the exciting world of space exploration and engineering. Students took part in a range of hands-on activities including:

🔧 Building and launching rockets
🎮 Simulating a Space Shuttle mission from Mission Control
🌊 Experiencing the effects of zero gravity in a specialist pool and hydraulic chair
💪 Feeling G-forces in a multi-axis training chair
🤖 Programming robots to operate autonomously

It was a truly unforgettable experience that hopefully inspires future scientists, engineers and explorers! 🚀⭐
