I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend 🐣 my little sunbeams enjoyed their crafts and making Easter baskets to fill with treats🍫🐇💛

March has got over very quickly! We’ve had lots of fun at Shirley’s Sunbeams and enjoyed some lovely sunshine ☀️ it gave us a glimpse of spring which seems to have disappeared again sadly 😂 we love outdoor play we planted some flowers in the new colourful pots to hang on the fence. Mother’s Day 💕 and St.Patrick’s day 🌈 follwed by starting Easter crafts that will be finished this week 🐣💛 have kept us busy. We’ve also enjoyed our favourite story the “Gruffalo” 🐻🤎 that we all love 🥰

Happy Mothers Day to all my mummies/mammy’s/ grandmas/Nanas/godmothers/and everyone special in the children’s lives have a fab day celebrating 💕❤️💐 I’m away to spend the day with my family 🥰

Walks in the sun and wind this week!! ☀️ 💨 More trains 🚊and shadows which the children are fascinated with 🥰 lots of smiles which is the best to see every day ❤️

“World Book Day” 🌍📚we had George pig arrive this morning with his dinosaur! 🦖we all love peppa pig so shared some stories.
Our book of the day was “The very hungry Caterpillar”🐛 it’s always enjoyed by the children we then painted our own caterpillars using the colours from the book (expressive arts & design) Reading books is a wonderful thing to do every day for the children in so many ways it’s part of our daily activities. I love books and it’s never too early to introduce young babies to them it’s a sociable experience (personal, social & emotional development) where children learn so much (speaking so increasing their language development , listening & understanding, sharing & exploring the books) we have props/ soft toys/puppets to go with many books making lovely story sacks which we all love it will help them as they get older too to continue to enjoy books and reading 🥰

Was so lovely to at last see some sunshine ☀️ yesterday we had a lovely walk out and watched the trains 🚊 we counted 4 today! 🚞 the little ones were fascinated with our shadows on the ground!! Very cute little friends holding hands 🥰

Happy Valentines Day 💕❤️ we’ve been sharing the love this week and the little ones have loved making lots of “heart” themed crafts 🥰

How does it go “There’s no such thing as bad weather! Only unsuitable clothing!!” Rain suits & wellies on to have lots of fun jumping , running & splashing in big puddles this morning! 💦🌧️☔️🥰 developing gross motor skills whilst having fun with our friends ❤️💙💙

Today we are celebrating “Australia Day” 🇦🇺 and doing some crafts, reading books and talking about it and how far away it is across the world! It’s always close to my heart as I have family living in Australia (although never been myself!) the little ones were fascinated with my old koala 🐨 soft toy I told them it came in an aeroplane from there a very long time ago!! We also sang a song from a favourite television programme I loved when I was young
“Skippy” the bush kangaroo 🦘they created some lovely paintings 💙❤️

First Aid completed on Friday 😊👌these are all my certificates from the last 30 years! My 12th first aid course this time and always some changes this time we had an online test at the end too!! Already did online part the week before the practical because it’s a 12 hour course.

Christmas crafts/decorating the little felt tree 🎄🎨 & dressing up 🎅❤️💚 my little sunbeams (and myself!!) are loving it all 🥰 Xmas stories and songs from next week 😍
