Fantastic Week at Summer School
What an incredible week we've had welcoming our Year 6 pupils as they prepare for their exciting transition to Year 7!

Throughout the week, pupils enjoyed a wide range of engaging activities designed to build confidence, develop new skills and make new friendships. They took part in STEM challenges, Mathematics, English and Geography activities, created wildflower seed bombs, and attended sessions with the NHS Team Around Mental Health, exploring wellbeing and strategies for managing anxiety when starting a new school.

One of the highlights of the week was our visit to Hopetown, where pupils discovered the fascinating history of the railway, experienced the Experiment ride and explored Wagon Woods.

There were also plenty of opportunities to stay active, with glow sports, basketball, pickleball, Just Dance and swimming sessions. Outdoor learning activities included map reading and navigation, water safety, and even marshmallow toasting around the campfire.

A huge thank you to Darlington Borough Council for generously providing meals, additional transport, and enrichment activities such as yoga and martial arts, helping to make this year's Summer School such a memorable experience.

It has been a wonderful week filled with learning, laughter and new experiences. We can't wait to welcome all of our new Year 7 pupils in September. We know you are going to make a fantastic start to your secondary school journey! πŸŽ‰βœ¨
