Roblox is hugely popular with children, offering millions of user-created games and social experiences. This guide explains how the platform differs from traditional video games, and why its scale, self-rating system and automated moderation can expose young users to inappropriate content or unsafe interactions.

In English, Y2 began their exciting new topic on information texts. Over the next few weeks, the children will be creating a leaflet about the beautiful Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

The children have explored a variety of leaflets, discussing what they liked about them, how they identified the subject matter, who the intended audience was, and pinpointing eye-catching features.

Year 3 have been learning about mummification. The children acted out each stage of the process and learnt why they did it. They found the scooping of the brain particularly gruesome and enjoyable.

Strong oral language skills help children feel confident, connected and ready to learn. Little Learners have had lots of fun exploring some lovely beach treasures that some of the children kindly shared with them. The children have enjoyed handling a variety of shells, pebbles and sea w**d. They added some soft dry sand for scooping and feeling with hands and fingers. A lovely sensory and physical activity along with opportunity to hear and use new words.
The children also had fun in the water outside exploring the beach rocks and pebbles. Lots of physical skills as the children balanced and transported them using spoons, placed them into different sized metal containers and filled and emptied with jugs. Some children also added the sea creatures into their play. Lots of early maths learning too through counting, exploring size, quantities and weight.

It's been a very busy week in Nursery!

In maths this week, the children in Reception have been learning about numbers beyond 10. They learnt that 11, 12, 13 etc all have a full ten and a bit. So 11 is 10 and 1, 12 is 10 and 2, 13 is 10 and 3 and so on. The children have enjoyed investigating this.

The children in Meadows, have enjoyed retelling the book 'Little Kipper's picnic' and checking how much their sunflower seeds have grown over the holiday. They also loved making repeating patterns in maths and looking at books with sliding mechanisms in DT.

The children in Y1, have been looking at different books today with a DT focus. The books had different mechanisms such as sliding or lifting flaps to reveal pictures. They choose a favourite book and some explained to the class about it.
