🎨✨ Creativity in Early Years ✨🎨

Creativity in the early years is so much more than sitting at a table with paints and paper. It’s about giving children the freedom to explore, experiment, imagine, problem-solve and express themselves in their own unique ways. 💭❤️

Creativity can be found everywhere — through music and movement, messy play, mark making, building, role play, storytelling, dance, exploring nature, designing, baking, dressing up and simply using their imagination to turn everyday objects into something extraordinary! 🌿🎶🧱🖌️

There doesn’t always need to be a finished product. Sometimes the most valuable part is the process — the conversations, the decisions they make, the mistakes they learn from and the confidence they develop along the way.

As early years educators, our role is to provide open-ended opportunities, rich experiences and an environment where children feel confident to have a go. There is no ‘right’ way to be creative. 🌈

Because when we give children the freedom to create, we are not just making pictures and models…
we are helping them to develop confidence, curiosity, independence, communication, imagination and a lifelong love of learning. ❤️

✨ Let them get messy. Let them experiment. Let them imagine. Let them create. ✨

🏆 WE’VE DONE IT AGAIN! 🏆

We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to share that Little Lingfield’s has once again received the Healthy Early Years Award from Darlington Borough Council! 💚

This award recognises the work we do across three really important areas of children’s development:

🥦 Healthy Eating
🏃‍♀️ Physical Activity
🦷 Oral Health

And while receiving the award is something to celebrate, what we’re especially proud of is the amount of work, thought and commitment that goes into achieving it.

There is so much that happens behind the scenes that families don’t always get to see. From carefully planned menus and healthy food choices, to providing opportunities for children to be active throughout the day, promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting oral health and making sure families have the information they need to continue these positive habits at home.

Our team works hard to ensure that these areas aren’t just something we 'talk about' — they are part of everyday life at Little Lingfield’s. ❤️

We were particularly pleased with the feedback from Darlington Borough Council following their visit:

💚 Our displays and parent information were described as 'excellent'
💚 Our policies were all in place
💚 We provide a range of information around the setting and through Tapestry
💚 We provide families with information
💚 Our approach to promoting children’s health and development was recognised and praised

These things take time. They take planning. They take teamwork. And most importantly, they take a whole team who genuinely care about giving our children the healthiest possible start in life. 🌱

So this is a HUGE WELL DONE to every member of our Little Lingfield’s team! 👏❤️

The award might have our name on it, but it represents the effort of every single person who works so hard behind the scenes to make Little Lingfield’s the nursery it is.

We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Healthy Early Years Award once again! 🏆💚

🌟 A huge thank you to our wonderful Little Lingfields families! 🌟

Recently, we sent out an online questionnaire via Tapestry to our parents to find out how you feel about your experiences with us, what you love, and where you feel we could continue to grow.

We were absolutely delighted with the wonderful feedback we received. 💕 Your kind words about our staff, the care we provide, our activities, communication and the experiences we offer our children mean so much to the whole team.

Of course, feedback isn't just about hearing the positives. We also received some really helpful suggestions and areas for improvement, and we will be taking these on board and looking at how we can continue to develop and improve our nursery. 🌱

We believe that listening to our families is such an important part of providing the best possible experience for our children, and your feedback genuinely helps us to grow.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, for your continued support and for trusting us with your little ones. 🥰

🏃‍♀️💙 GOOD LUCK LISA! 💙🏃‍♀️

Tomorrow our amazing Deputy, Lisa, will be taking on the Great North Run in honour of her late brother-in-law, Gary, and to raise money for the incredible St Teresa’s Hospice.

St Teresa’s Hospice provided Gary and his family with such wonderful care and support during his final days, and they continue to support Lisa’s sister Rachel and their family. 💙

We all know just how much hard work, dedication and training Lisa has put into this challenge, and we couldn’t be prouder of her!

From everyone at Little Lingfields, we want to wish you the very best of luck, Lisa. 🥰

We know you’re going to absolutely SMASH IT! 💪🏃‍♀️💙
